Friends are one of the greatest types of people you could have in life. In some cases they can become non-blood related family, pretty much, just from years of hanging out, through thick and thin, dealing with each others' differences, but still having that genuine urge to hang out, watch a show, kick back with a drink perhaps, eat good food, play some games... whatever it is. Or talk about life's lows.

My best friend? I love him, he's basically the brother God forgot to give me. He's welcome in my house 24/7, and I in his. We've got 11 years since we first met and I wouldn't trade it for anything. He's been an amazing guy and it is very interesting also just to see how much we have both changed since those high school days. Sure we've had our ups and downs, but in the long run? It's only what makes a relationship grow. We'll be bros till the day we die.

Are you translating "friend" from some other language than English? Because "friend" is quite the broad term in English nowadays.
What people from the U.S call friends need not fit the definition of words that get translated into friend from other languages.
(e.g.: "Freund" means "friend" in German, but most of whom people from the U.S (or worse facebook) would call "friends" are actually only "Bekanntschaften" (loose acquaintances) to Germans (facebook friends are stangers for the most part actually).
