That sounds really awful. I've made it a rule of mine to only drink in social situations.

If I need to not think for at while I'd rather bingewatch some seasons of some series. It might get a bit stale after 8 episodes of House in a row, but it's good enough to keep the mind away from less nice places.

That's "let's get hammered" level of drinking. If you're doing that alone at all, I'd guess you have issues that needs resolving.

See, this might be a bit excessive on a weekday. Actually it would be excessive any day of the week.

That's kind of the definition of a drinking problem.

Therapy is a more long term, significantly healthier, and cheaper option. I had a drinking problem and major depression about 9 months ago where I was drinking morning until night to fight off depression and axiety. I'm at the point now where alcohol is enjoyable for me again instead of a crutch.

Have you tried Cognitive Behaviour Therapy or other tablets? I wouldn't recommend drinking to make you feel a little better. Tackle the problem head on, go and see a doctor. Helped me a lot with my own Anxiety and Depression.

I drink wine daily. But perhaps the trouble you are having OP is not drinking on any specific day but the amount you are drinking.

Having a drink on any given day should not be an issue if you are responsible, moderate and in control of your impulses. Escapism via intoxication would be a problem, drink itself is not.

If you do that amount daily then you need to seek professional help and a mod should close this.

If someone needs medical help it isn't right to get help in an online gaming forum from fucking idiots who think it is amusing.

Drink whatever day you want, but if you're doing it to self medicate it's not going to end well.

Wednesdays are the cheapest around here, sometimes I'll go out then if some of the guys have Thursday off, otherwise I just wait for Friday and Saturday.

LMFAO are you dead serious when u say medication like xanax and xoloft is better than alcohol? Have u read the side effects have you seen ppl that abuse it?
Also theres nothing wrong if you drink in moderation. I have 1-2 glasses of scotch on the weekdays and maybe 3-4 on the weekend not to excessive and i dont get drunk.

There's nothing inherently wrong with drinking on weekdays, but you've clearly acknowledged that your behaviour is problematic and have come here seeking validation.

Thread should be closed. Seek medical advice.
