Its not bad actually and I usually hate salty/sweet combinations like that. Finally tried a slice about 20 years ago and liked it. That particular 1995 pizza also had pine nuts on it as well. Was a unique crunch added on.

I may have just grown up in a family that likes the salty/sweet combo a lot. Could be regional too. Around here it's not unheard of to see fries in shakes, peanuts in Pepsi (admittedly this one is somewhat old/dead), grilled cheese sandwich with apple slices (gruyere is the cheese to do this with, jams work with it too.), chocolate covered pretzels, strawberries and brie, kettle corn, etc.

But Hawaiian pizzas are fantastic. Great intro to salty/sweet combos.

pineapple is disgusting on pizza. it gets all soggy and shit and loses its natural sweet flavor. also makes the pizza taste like garbage. im all for pinapple when its on the side, but when i want a nice cheese pizza with that italian tomato sauce taste, i dont want pinapple turning it into some half baked somwhat sweet confusing pizza.
