WC3 says hello from the grave.According to the community every blizzard game is dying.
Nothing to see here.
A optional skin with no game play functions will kill the game? Wow. I think 10 bucks is too expensive, but seriously, who gives a damn? Who the hell are these people?
While I am now 4 months WoW free and not having any incentive to come back, I've been told and have heard multiple times in the 10 or so years of playing the game that «It's dead. It's dying. It's gone.» Yet, while it's not at the summit it once was, it's still quite popular.
Hard to judge how good a game is, when it is "free" to play. It doesn't stop someone like me, creating an account, then never touch it again, while the stat will still count me as a player.
I think Blizzard probably had segmented earnings in their private data (whether they release this data to public or not), which shows revenue per game, investment input per game, net contribution per game. That way you can tell how much money HS is making (vs how much investment was needed) and decide how successful it is.
Well, looks like Hearthstone has officially made it. A Blizzard game just isn't a real success until the forums can talk about nothing but how it's failing and dying and it's all Blizzard's fault.
I look forward to HoTS joining that elite club.

A 13 year old game, "dead"?
What a colossal failing of the dev studio.
