6.2 Release Date Speculation

My guesses is that the 2 week warning will be given Friday or next Tuesday June 16th. The patch itself may release June 30th.

They've yet to announce end of season.

They've got to announce the PVP season end today (like it always has on tuesdays) for the patch to go live on the 23rd. If it doesn't happen, the 30th is my guess.

My guesses it will feature Gul'dan and Kilrogg torturing Grommash, showing him the things he's done to his Iron horde (previewing all the raid bosses) ending with a sarcastic/sly remark from Kilrogg and a reprise of "We will never be slaves" or "We will be conquerors" or "Times Change"

Only of the new PvP season is announced today.

It's close, but it's not coming that soon. They're still running raid testing, and I suspect they have at least one more tuning pass on classes. Shipyards are still incomplete from what I read on the PTR forum.

This is the polish phase. They went final candidate, which means they're done adding, now they tweak and polish and get it ready for release. I'd bet a month. 3 weeks minimum, if they don't announce the new PvP season today.

I honestly think people obsess over this on these forums much more than Blizzard do... truth is 6.2 is not even close to done, we still don't have release candidate on PTR, there is no PvP season end...

So no it won't come before FFXIV expansion and I don't even think Blizzard think of countering anything that way, especially not by releasing half baked patch.

It also lost almost 1/3 of its player base in a single quarter. The ongoing content drought combined with the upcoming FFXIV expansion (and Square's marketing push for Heavensward) and developers continuing to put their feet in their mouths in interviews all point to, yes, a pathetic quarterly report in terms of subscriber numbers. When you bleed millions of customers within the span of a single financial quarter, any other industry would have seen mass layoffs and new leadership brought in. Heck, many other game companies would have done the same--losing 1/3 of your audience is indefensible from any standpoint except the most stubbornly-dedicated.
