Just don't cheap out on a PSU.

Go with Corsair or Seasonic.

Not Corsair. Some Corsair are ok, but the OEMs they use vary so wildly. Seasonic, XFX(all seasonic OEM) and certain EVGA models as well. There are a few good Corsair units, but I tend to avoid them all together as they are pretty much all over the place.

He should be fine with his current power supply. There are a lot of brands worth considering if buying new as long as you know the quality, OEM and such of the specific unit. This is where this forum can come in handy.

Thank you for all the support. I'd like to bring this back into discussion with talks of mini atx build as opposed to regular atx build. What are the benefits or differences between the two. Is there any information you need from me on what ill be using the system for?
