Help building a new PC - 500€ budget

    Hi all,

I'd like to upgrade my desktop PC. I live in Italy and my budget is 500€. Components I already own:

    - Case
    - Mouse & keyboard
    - Samsung B2430H Monitor
    - Speakers
    - OS
    - A 120Gb SSD for the OS.
    - I have a 2 years old 650W PowerSupply, I don't know if I need to change it as well... Will it be enough?

Apart from working with it (so mainly Office + CAT tools), I'll use it to play games, no video encoding whatsoever. I would like a very silent PC, I'd prefer that over a 2% increased performance.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

If you are really tight on budget, honestly you could go for slower CPU like i5-4590 or even i5-4460 which would be like 20-40e less, maybe more. Parpicker doesn't show them so. I would honestly want a GPU with at least 2GB of VRAM at this point, like http://it.pcpartpicker.com/part/evga...rd-02gp42754kr but it's 30e more than the 1GB one.
    PM me weird stuff :3

Thanks, that's really helpful! I self-imposed the budget, but if you confirm the fact I can use the power supply I already have, we could set the budget to 600 euros.

Also, do you think this is a good moment to buy new parts, or would it be wiser to wait for the new sockets?

    Thanks again.

If you gave us a specific country we might be able to help you even more.

Skylake, next generation Intel CPU is coming in August, but that also means DDR4 which is a little more expensive.

You can use this calculator to work out how much power you need.

Spoiler: 650W will be more than enough for just about anything you can afford. We're talking a pair of GTX 980 Ti before you'd need to upgrade it. You're not doing anything like that.
