I changed mine from a goblin female to an orc female when the xpac dropped because that face is to die for.

Good to see Orc female is in the lead. I saw Preach when his rogue was an Orc female and it looked badass.
Glad I got in before the fun was shut down. Back to the invulnerable shit-flinging troll threads I go!

Orc female ofcourse, the clear winners in new character models. UD females have great animations but they lost some of their original charm with the update.

Belf rogue only option
If you are particularly bold, you could use a Shiny Ditto. Do keep in mind though, this will infuriate your opponents due to Ditto's beauty. Please do not use Shiny Ditto. You have been warned.

If Horde, Undead or Belf if you value decent looking transmogs, Belf racial iirc also gives back a bit of energy which can help. Goblins after that, then whoever. Tauren obviously are still a no-go. Panda are too fat unless you're playing a female, armor is meh on them for most classic rogue sets, only the offset monk ones look ok for them. Orcs aren't that great for looks, trolls meh with the hunch.
If Alliance, Human if you value PvP, pick and choose between Human and Nelf for transmog, then whatever pretty much after. Gnomes get some perk with daggers I think still, dwarves can remove bleeds (very useful since there's almost no other way, ensuring you can get back to stealth from anything), worgen have a minor sprint, etc.
