    Separate volume level for headphones

How do I configure Windows to have two different volume settings for speakers and headphones?

It might have been the hardware, but with my previous computer, whenever I plugged in a pair of headphones to the front 3.5mm jack, it would activate a separate volume level.

IE, when I set the volume low with the headphones plugged in, then unplugged the headphones, the volume would go back to the normal level...then plugging the headphones back in would make the volume go low again. It was like the computer was remembering two different volume settings for headphones and speakers.

How does one go about setting that up? My sound devices appear to be:

-NVIDIA HDMI Output (Port 0 through 4)
    -Speakers (Realtek High Definition Audio)
    -Realtek Digital Output

Nevermind, figured it out by tinkering with the Realtek HD Audio Manager.

Opened it up and went into the advanced settings, and there was a checkbox for "Make front and rear output devices playback two different audio streams", that seems to do the trick! A device named "Headphones" appeared in the list of playback devices, alongside Speakers.
