    Xhul'horac raid positioning

We are currently progressign through HC, did some attempts on this boss tonight. Was wondering what setup you guys used in terms of space usage? Where did you stand in each phase, where were the fel and shadow debuffs put down?

from this guide, worked well for us

Our group had success with starting on the northern side of the room (left as you enter) and dropping all Fel Surges along the edge of the platform. Then when phase two hit we moved a little farther than halfway down the room and dropped all of our Void Surges within 5-10 yds of the Fel Flames that had accumulated on the north side of the platform.

When the fires mix they will deal ~20-30k damage to each raid member. If you are within 20 yds of the mixing point you will be hit for closer to 200k damage and get a debuff that increases the damage you take from any following explosions. Very important to keep your distance from them.

The two fires will mix and eliminate each other which, when we did it properly left us with ~50-60% of the room clear (the entire southern half) by the end of the fight.

Only other thing that tripped us up a little were Imp casts getting off (Shockwave is amazing for these things, it will be up for every wave) and people getting hit by Voidstep (void add spell cast). Those two mechanics spawn fires around the room if they go off. This can very quickly lead to fire spreading out of control.

On heroic its worthwhile to have rogues or similar classes intentionally get some debuffs in p2 and clear away some more space. around the middle. I believe we'd trigger 2-3 in the Fire areas, and 1 maybe 2 ( probably player error) in the void areas.

The answer to this question obviously is to just wait till the boss bugs out on you and doesn't spawn adds or fire.

I'm not sure I'm qualified to answer this given how messy our kill (and all other attempts :P) was but yeah, green fire on one edge and then purple on the other, we had quite a few explosions in P3 but didn't lose people to them as our healers are lovely people <3

Also had an ingenious "let's kite the voidfiends" plan that didn't work out so well as we then had a gazillion of them still up in P3/P4, changed tactics and decided to burn all adds down asap, worked much better for us.

Btw dropped a healer during progress to make last phase shorter, then again we were pretty healer heavy.

Why do people wanna put purple and green on opposite sides? Put them near each other, and stay away from it yourself = no shit on the ground.

Yeah, we didn't put them on opposite sides either. We used the back left quadrant (if you're standing on the steps facing the boss) for green fire. Then the forward left quadrant for purple fire. That leaves the whole right side of the room free for the last phase, and if you drop any bad fire, you can just move the boss/raid into the middle and since both fire types are close its easy to get the right debuff to blow up the badly placed fire.

Does anyone have a video or a WCL replay of the "dropping the puddles on the same side" strategy? It seems like that's the best way to maximize the room space (we did it the "puddles on opposite sides" way on our normal kill and it was a bit of cluster at the end).

No video, but here's our log of the kill: https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports...v4Kmc#fight=58

We did the left and right side strat and just had some RDPS take care of clearing with a personal up.

    Here's our logs.
