Except it has become more than just sabre rattling. Russia is clearly putting a lot of effort to try and destabilize European countries, either by financing and promoting far right parties or by trying to stir up ethnic conflict.

Putin won't start a war over the Baltics, but he will turn the russian minority there into separatists and then move in with *spits* "peacekeepers", effectively turning the region into a frozen conflict zone, slowly making it more and more dependent on Russia. It's their modus operandi, just look at Moldova, Ukraine and Georgia.

I'll say it again: I will NEVER EVER UNDERSTAND the sick stalker fetish that Russia has for Eastern Europe., their dreams of ruling a united Eurasian Federation/Union/Empire, to become a superpower and oppress others again.
Other countries want simple things like improving living standards and economy, Russia just wants to rule over others, it's the only way they'll ever feel relevant and strong.
