I think this needs to be properly checked as I'm confident (but not 100%) that I caused damage to others during artillery. It was hard to tell as warcraft logs doesn't seem to log who caused the damage correctly under 'problems'. However, I cloaked mine 2 seconds before landing, I successfully avoided all damage but everyone else in the raid got hit by 3 artillery strikes (3 people had the debuff). This tells me that you don't prevent the raid wide damage. Hoping someone can confirm.

i noticed myself sometimes explosion goes off and sometimes not, or at least animation of explosion. I guess it got something to do with when you cast cloak, or its just bugged.

I just checked, it definitely works. On this log you can see that when this artilery goes out, two of us (a mage & I) immune it, and the raid is only hit by one artillery hit rather than three.

Yesterday I cloaked Gorefiends Touch of Doom by mistake and had no Doomwell spawning, was quite suprised. Unable to confirm it with logs of course. Was it just some kind of bug or is this the way it is now?

RE: Iron Reaver - I definitely see what you're saying to be true, only 1 hit per player and 3 artillery debuffs. Check out my log below, the cloak times look similar but yours is closer to the debuff finishing I think, so maybe if its within that last second? As you can see, 3 debuffs, 3 hits per player. I may be looking at the logs wrong. This is also doing H, so maybe its a variant of artillery that is affected?

I can't post links yet, so copy paste.

Update: Here's another one but on normal from a while ago:

Log shows the exact same thing - the damage is so low because (beside it being on normal), I still ran out of the group.

In Iskar CLoS removes The chakram damage, feint lowers it

    Note for Mannoroth:

Mannoroth's Gaze can be avoided completely by using Vanish whilst the spell is being cast. This will result in one less raid member being horrified if you were targetted. (Hunters can also do this with Feint Death.)

Managed to successfully test this several times. On heroic, we had only 1 raid member being horrified at one point since a hunter and myself managed to avoid the cast completely.

    Tip for Iron Reaver:

When he is casting Blitz, you can stand in the path and when he has charged (and applies the initial damage to you), use Cloak of Shadows to fully negate all damage from the remaining charge + debuff, AND this will last long enough to immune the second Blitz charge straight after completely. Do more deeps and stick to him

Seems like it's about 50/50 on whether or not it will drop a Doomwell, I started out instantly cloaking and must have gotten lucky, because after a while they started dropping doomwells in melee. Then I started running out and cloaking, and about every other time it won't drop a doomwell.

Yeah I never risk it and I just sprint, jump into a doomwell and cloak before I take damage, effectively making my circle on top of another circle so there is more room.

Does anybody knows if the trinket from kazzak with the 500 avoidance (20% reduced dmg from aoe) works on black holes on xhul mythic?

For example trinket/feint/ironbark wont even proc my cheat death right? Or it wont even kill me if i spec for elusivness.

Any ideas if its gonna work?

No way to soak it without proccing cheat death. Also, save your cloak incase you have green debuff going into your soak.

So if i have a disc priest shield lets say 80k and a 140k shield from paladin via lay on hands it wont even proc cheat death concidering im close to 490k hp raid buffed and ill take 450k from hole.

seems overly complicated for an easy fight mechanic you can use rogues mages warlocks dks to soak without doing anything special

    Singularity does 900k damage.

for guilds who only got one rogue and not so many warlocks(or which are forced to do other tasks), it is possible to let your disc priest shield you up so cheat death doesn't get triggered.

two empowered blackholes are of course not possible to soak consecutively.

    for reference: wcl

It deals 900k damage and pierces reduction mechanics. You'd need full stacked clarity of will + every shield to live. Not worth it really.

    Fun story about that shielding:

In a recent farm our priest managed to not make my Cheat Death Proc so I soaked twice in row in the beginning of the fight. I could do that because I'm the guy assigning black hole soaks on the fly.
Now that said priest shields the DK soaker and neither does his purgatory proc.
I send him again and he insta dies. Which left me puzzled for a while.

It took me a couple of seconds to realize that I sent him to certain death for soaking two empowered ones as I configured my Weak Aura to only track purgatory instead of Singularity for DKs since it the former lasts longer than the latter. By looking at my Weak Aura I thought he was good to go. Oh well.

So yes it's possible, but not really worth it.

Oh god, this thread got unstickied too. Should really have a separate sub-forum for different expansions, so they don't mess with the current ones as much!
