    It's not really celebrated here, but I went out with some friend and did some tosts in honor of the Declaration of Independence in particular and getting rid of distant and tyrannical sovereigns in general.

    Spending the night in Wichita, KS tonight. Good lord they take this shit seriously here. Since my crew and I got into the hotel around 8:30 it's been non stop. I just looked out the window and there were fireworks going on non stop in pretty much the entire 150 degrees of view I have looking out. Very intense.

    I think it's been proven conclusively that Stalin would've taken care of Hitler without US involvement, so I'm thinking they would've been fine.

    I didn't do much. Just the standard cookout / light a few cheap fireworks.

    Sucks that it didn't fall on a weekday this year. I'm already off work on Saturdays. :|
