I would love to live in Germany or any of the Scandinavian countries. I like the cold weather, the style of government and economy those countries have.

Don't choose Australia guys, our Current government is making us the least free of all western countries.

Sweden or Holland. The Dutch speak English extremely well, so there's little adjustment regarding language. I'm sure you could get by in one of the major Swedish cities as well with no time for adjustment.(Not saying I wouldn't learn the language, I already know a few phrases in both, it helps that my best friend is fluent in 7 languages)
Japan, Portugal perhaps.
Japan because I love a lot of things from there, Portugal because it is where my father's side of the family is from and I do not know much about my own culture.
Canada easy although if I could move anywhere and be able to speak the language then I might check out Japan. Although I think visiting Japan would be far more fun than living there.
Japan because I like a lot of their culture, I also have family there. Otherwise Canada, I've lived there for 3 years, it is just a cleaner more peaceful United States.
Japan. They've got some really hot chicks there.
Also they like to build giant robots and shit, so there's that.
It was a voluntary move, but at this point it appears to be a permanent relocation. China. I've been here about fifteen years now. I'll be getting married to a Cantonese woman in a few months and will probably end up retiring to her home town after a few more years.Originally Posted by Enfilade
Why? I grew up during the Cold War. China was one of those places that I would encounter in books, magazines or films, but I never expected to end up here. I had a chance to take a temporary position here and I found it interesting enough that I've stayed. My background was in international law and I've found it more interesting to watch things develop first hand rather than just reading about it in the news. I pushed myself hard enough in my old profession that my health took a nosedive, and I enjoy my current work far more.
With COVID-19 making its impact on our lives, I have decided that I shall hang in there for my remaining days, skip some meals, try to get children to experiment with making henna patterns on their skin, and plant some trees. You know -- live, fast, dye young, and leave a pretty copse. I feel like I may not have that quite right.
Switzerland for me, I can learn German well enough and I already know a bit of French, plus I'm 1/4 Swiss.
Funnily enough, most of mainland Europe thinks we're kinda two-faced (probably because of our obsession with being polite) You should visit The Netherlands, they're really direct and, to me at least, seem like the US of Europe (which isn't an insult, they value personal liberty as long as it doesn't hurt anyone else, privacy and have capitalism mastered with some really decent consumer protections)
