Questions regarding selling my pc, a laptop and my modem

    Hi guys,

I'm considering to sell my PC. Simply because the case is way too big and I doubt I can fit my current rig in a (much) smaller case. I dont use it enough to justify keeping it, all I use it for are my financials and chatting while gaming on my PS4 which is maybe 4 hours per week max.

    My current rig is:

    Corsair Carbine 500R case
    Seasonic M12II-620 psu
    Sapphire Dual-X R9 280x GPU
    Corsair Vengeance 8GB DDR3 memory
    Gigabyte Z77X-D3H mobo
    Crucial M4 128gb SSD
    Western Digital 1tb HDD
Intel i5-2500k running at stock currently
Zulaman CNPS10X Performa with 2 coolers

So my question is, if I'd buy these parts new (most aren't even for sale here in Holland anymore as far as I have seen), this pc is worth 1300 euro. What could I get for it if I'd sell it?

What is the smallest case I can fit this rig in? My stock cooler is huge just as my graphic card so I don't have much faith in this myself. I've seen people put insane rigs in very small cases here, so I think something must be possible. The case however should be a lot smaller before I'd consider it.

My other option is buying a (gaming) laptop. I know Alienware and such should be avoided, but what should I go for if a smaller case is not a possibility? I KNOW I someday will return to gaming on PC again as I've been a PC gamer since forever. Any suggestions? Ofcourse this will depend on the smaller case availability.

My last question is my modem. I bought a house and moved here 6 months ago. I've been having on and off issues with it, mainly WiFi.

Despite me trying to connect everything correctly, the modem ended up behind the couch. I also have like 4 ethernet cables plugged in there. It's a Ubee EVW 321b. Would I get better performance if I'd buy a router which is placed on a better location? I've also read that plugging that much in your modem doesnt work out properly. But I've no clue if this is the case with every modem.

Sorry for the wall of text and thanks in advance!

Individually the parts are worth more than the whole system. But these are used parts so not as much as 1300 euro. Cause for that much anyone could build a better machine new.

You have a full ATX motherboard which limits what the smallest case can be. But from what I've found the Cooler Master HAF XB EVO. It looks more compact at least.

Why do you need a smaller PC? You explained you're using your PS4 more so it's not like you're moving or something. Btw look into Sager, but they're not cheap.

Is it a modem+router combo supplied by the ISP? If so then try to use a regular wifi router separate from the modem. The ones from ISPs tend to be junk. An access point and still be plugged in to the modem+router to extend the signal.

I'll look into selling the PC in parts, thanks for the tip.

I want a smaller PC because this one simply uses too much space to be worth it. I don't use my PC often at all and my apartment is not very big.

I know I will eventually play a game here and there so that's why I would want a gaming laptop. Im fairly sure I wont go back to hardcore gaming on PC though.

It's a modem and router in one yes. I guess i'll look into getting a seperate sometime this year then, I always used a Asus RTAC66U at my parents house so ill get that I guess.

So I went from wanting a smaller PC to considering a Surface Pro to considering a laptop to considering a smaller PC....

I suppose I could get rid of my motherboard atleast.

    - Is there a smaller keyboard I can use where my CPU will fit in and graphic card/memory and stuff?
    - What case options will open up for me?

    If this isn't really possible (smaller motherboards arent available for my cpu for example);

    - Which parts can I still use and which will I have to sell?
    - What replacement parts do you suggest?
    - What case options are there then ?

Sorry for all the questions, I've been staring myself blind for 3 hours trying to figure this out by myself, but I am too much of a PC noob to get it done..

    Edit: What about this?
