Help with Logs Analysis pls

Can someone with better log analysis eyes help me out please, I do not understand why the other Hunter is doing more DPS than I am, when a) i slightly out gear him and as far as I can tell, my rotation is just as solid... as an example, last night's Gorefiend, he did 47k, i did 42k... it seems his abilities hit harder (or his pets do) and I cannot fathom it, i have a fair deal more Mastery than him, shouldn't my Kill Commands hit for more??

His pet melee'd slightly more than mine - might be due to target swaps, but, it is hitting on avge 3k harder
and I had a couple more kill commands than him, yet his are hitting on avge for ~4k more... i don't get it...

Any help appreciated (or at least a convincing explanation! lol)

during the feast of soul phase, you are hitting the boss 95% of the time, and finishing the adds 5% of the time
the other hunter is at 99% no the boss

but that is not enough to explain the difference

you have a 74% uptime on frenzy and 60% uptime on FF
the other hunter has 94% uptime on frenzy and 58% on FF

the other hunter prefer to let frenzy go longer on his pet

also the other hunter had used 7 +50 agi rune in the night, you use 0 (although none of you had rune for that particular fight)

Well if he wasn't finishing off adds at the start of feast of souls, he wasn't doing what was asked... but yeah, still shouldn't be a 5k difference... i went back and had another look, he used his 2nd pot during lust with bw and i didn't - is that enough to create a 5k difference? thanks for posting

As far as I can tell, most of the discrepancy is coming from not lining up CDs and mismanaging frenzy-stacks/FF up-time.
Frenzy stacks/FF management is where BM hunters live or die.

It looks like at one point you held onto 5 stacks of frenzy for almost a minute (way too long to) in what I can only assume was anticipation for feast. Massive loss from that. Not that Cyclaw did all that much better with managing frenzy/FF but he/she was still considerably more consistent.

Also, not potting during your major CDs lining up while a BL/Heroism is going is massively detrimental.

I'm curious though, with all the target swapping, why would you run BM on gore-fiend? MM is invaluable on the fight.

Yeah - not super comfortable with MM just yet, so practicing on the earlier bosses - also, no 4pc yet, so the differences between the 2 specs at my gear level are ~meh... but yeah the target swapping is a pita - probs why i didn't use FF for a minute - just swapping to get 1 shot off before the target died lol - anyway - thanks for your input - I'll look at aligning my CD's better

Two things jumped out at me when I looked at the logs. You have much lower use of barrage and higher cobra shot uptime. While I'm not an expert, this would suggest that you're focus capping too much and missing out on too many vital hard hitting barrages.

HaHa! Yeah I have been catching my self spamming Cobra (i noticed it too) when moving and things are hectic - trying to 'fix' that and slowly getting better - but yeah i need to align cd's better as well... thanks to all who posted - i have some things to work on

Also looks like he had more casts and wasted a lot less focus. It looks like you were focused capped wayyyyyy to much.
