    Please Advise on new Computer.

Hello, I'm about to make a large purchase on computer hardware to build my own machine.
The goal would be to play current computer games on medium to high settings for at least the next 2 years with little to no upgrading necessary. I may also dabble in streaming if I find I can afford the internet required to support it. (High speed internet can be expensive in my area)

This is the list of items I have currently selected: What I'd like is for someone to point out any red flags (Compatibility issues/ hardware that wouldn't be up to the task, weak links/ missing parts etc.) The only thing missing from this list is my monitor, I plan to use my hdmi TV as my monitor initially to trim the budget a bit.

    Red flags for me:

i3 is a bit weak on modern titles. Go for an i5. Especially with DirectX 12 on the way, single core performance will start to take a backseat to overall performance.

2GB GPU is going to struggle in the coming years. Go for 4GB.

850W PSU is way over spec. You can run this machine on much less than that.

SSDs are cheap and getting cheaper. You should consider one.

Motherboard is possibly overspecced for the machine you're building here. A good motherboard is nice, but not when it's eating into your CPU/GPU budget.

Seems like a lot of money wasted here and there. Total budget seems around 1150-1200. You can achieve alot better performance for that money with money alocation on the right parts. For example case-mobo-ram-psu wasted money for no reason.

The following is miles ahead in performance and quality. Namely better cpu-gtx970-ssd-peripherals plus all the rest which are at least as good if not better than what you had in your list.

I missed the "USB Thingy" at the bottom as well. I've no idea what use you've got planned for a computer that the 14 built in USB ports won't be enough.

i3 is a little weak for Z97 mother board. I7 would be the best. or i5 is OK. You can choose a CPU with K, so that you can overlock. If you use it for gaming, a 16GB RAM would be better. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820148545
