Could use some insights into logs to tighten up my damage

My parses are fairly decent, but with my gear level I feel they should be around good to stellar. I'm not all too great at comparing logs so I was wondering if you all could help me out a bit. I'm missing SoC (Heroic), but I have a hard time believing that is the entirety of the problem.

    Armory:http://us.battle.net/wow/en/characte...erplz/advanced

If you're curious here are all my parses for the tier:https://www.warcraftlogs.com/ranking...latest/#boss=0

To point you to a few specific fights where I feel I could use improvement, to name a few:
    Heroic Tyrant 7/14: https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports...view=execution
    Mythic Iron Reaver 7/15: https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports...pe=damage-done
    Heroic Xhul'horac 7/14: https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports...a4qnk#fight=37
(I did quite well on this fight earlier in the tier, but for some reason fell flat this week.)

I'm not sure if all of this is adds dying too fast for my starfall to be of any use, me dotting too much, too little?

A quick note, I have the Heroic T18 Chest (Would be my 3-piece) in my bags but decided against throwing it on because of the itemization on my current chest and to keep the T17 2-piece. While I was writing this up, I picked up Normal HoC. This can't be better than my Mythic GSR can it?

I was wondering does the pre pull change now that rppm trinkets don't proc twice? Currently I'm using Inc->prepot+wrath->CA+SS->MF->Starfire x2 -
Thank you in advance for taking the time to help me squeeze that last little bit out of my character!

Ill answer your questions then check out logs.
    1) I want absolutely nothing to do with SoC Normal. The heroic version pisses me off enough with its RnG nature and I can't imagine dealing with the 65(?)% chance for it to proc starfall. Would never equip it.

    2) Im pretty sure the proper opener with HFC trinkets is 4s - Inc > Prepot > Starfire > CA / Dots > Starsurge...

    Logs:
Tyrant- Comparing yours to mine here, I didnt do that well because i popped cds in P2 rather than P3 but felt like I played the fight pretty well (https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports...done&source=20)

-Starfire usage, our fights were essentially the same length but I got 20 more starfire casts off than you, makes a huge difference.
-Not going to look at starsurges/starfalls because I have SoC, but looking at your add damage there isnt really a need for you to ever be targetting the adds (unless you are cleaning up the first 2 adds before the phase or obviously focusing the third) just dot them up and starfall in lunar. The longer they're up the more damage you can do to them.
-- Just try to cast more, not sure if you were doing the double-tempest stack so you only have to move once, but its handy.

Not going to touch Iron Reaver, havent killed

    Xhul: (Mine - https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports...done&source=21)
-Remember that it is worth starfalling for >2 targets (no matter what cycle you're in), which there is almost always up. Was the biggest difference between us.
-The same casting more deal, our fights were the same length but i got 19 more starfires off.
-It looks like you were overdotting a bit, you casted significantly more but did less damage with them. So either you were overlapping the dots or the targets were dying too quickly. I generally sunfire the imps if i happen to be in solar and always sunfire and moonfire the voids. Seems to be a good baseline.

The biggest thing just seems to be planning your movement so you can cast more.

    Party on.

I'll touch iron reaver, but even before looking at logs I suspect the same problems (low quantity of casts) will be apparent.
To start off, here is my log of our first kill: https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports...asts&source=12

Just as Albimoo said, your starfire casts are far too low - I have 26 more than you do on a fight where we DoT and starfall a bunch. Place an emphasis on finding a place to stand still and cast things. If you're going to move, find actions to take and work around the movement. Right before the 3 minute mark or so I notice you get targeted by Artillery at which point you immediately displacer beast to the edge. Instead of taking such drastic immediate action, I would recommend something like starting to strafe in the direction you need to go while dotting up the bombs near you (w/ starfall up) and using displacer beast when artillery is at 2-1 seconds. There's no reason to waste time sitting on the edge of the room doing nothing.
Another thing I notice is cooldown timing. One thing you need to go from "decent" to "good to stellar" (I see what you did there) is extensive fight knowledge. When I pop my cooldowns the boss hasn't come down yet, but isn't casting any more abilities. The bombs need to die and I know that the roughly 10 seconds before she drops gives me time to dot up all the bombs in range, get a starfire or two off onto a reinforced, and still manage to use CA dots on the boss. You leave all your cooldowns for hitting the boss, which feels like a waste. Even though you're doing that, the sheer quantity of casts against the boss during that time pales in comparison.

Our starsurge/starfall quantities are pretty similar.

Overall this post ends up just repeating what Albi said but with some Iron Reaver comparisons.
    GL parsing!
