    Lol why are people so mad over mercenary mode.

    If you're so nerdy that the thought of pvping with the opposite faction hurts you and bothers you on such a deep emotional level there will still be the option to endure 30+ minute queues so you can keep your fictional faction pride intact.

    Don't think that's the problem. There really is no 'lore' to instanced PvP in my opinion.

    What is the problem though, is that merc mode removes the last incentive to be horde if your end game is exclusively PvP. It doesn't fix the core issue of faction imbalance. You pretty much have to be Alliance to find a team for rated PvP, and now you also get short queues . So why roll horde at all?

    If merc mode was for rated PvP, then maybe factions would've balanced out in the long run. The top PvP'ers would disperse amongst the two factions, and their friends/followers who moved to Alliance at the beginning of WoD would either move with them to be able to play with them, or move back to horde for the short unrated PvP queues.
