    spirit shell.. again

    hello everyone,

since i got the socrethar trinket and the legendary ring, i find myself casting more and more PoH, since mana is not really a problem anymore, at least it seems to be for the first 2 mythic bosses (didnt progress any further).

wouldnt that increase the value of spirit shell? i didnt test it yet in a real raid situation, just in lfr.
It also seems to be a nice combination with intuitions gift, which leaves 30 seconds of no usage if you combo it with PI.

this is today's log https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports...aling&source=9 with a few poh casts.

i know it has been said SS sucks, but the argument for it was pretty much always that PoH is too expensive etc. etc.

    any opinions?

PoH is still too expensive. The Socrethar trinket is so valuable because of how it works with PW: S spam. 600 mana off 10k is just meh, but 600 mana off 3k is good.

Also im not sure how SS would work with the legendary ring. While it would benefit from the 25% increase healing, it probably wouldn't benefit from the healing burst that occurs at the end cause you're missing out on the direct healing from PoH using SS. (Still not entirely sure how it works with absorbs).

Either way, I'm still not sure if the healing would really outweigh PI+IG+shield spam. I remember testing out SS with T17 4pc in BRF, and it did slightly less healing than PI, but at the cost of much faster mana consumption so it was never worth it.

So imo, probably still not worth it. But if you're still super curious, test it out next week during heroic farm and post the logs up here again so we could see. I'd be interested to see how it interacts with legendary ring.

so far the healing burst at the end seems very very very underwhelming (under 2% overall healing done, ~<500 k healing, unless i'm reading it wrong). the power of the ring is in the 25% heal/absorb boost. i'll try tomorrow since we started after gorefiend today.

in lfr spirit shell did ~15-17 % overall healing, but thats just lfr...

Yeah, those are the same numbers I'm getting for my legendary ring. Its cause it does work with shields.

But you also have to realize, your SS may do 15-17% healing, but your PWS/DA are also going to be lower as a result.

    iron reaver: https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports...aling&source=6

those 3 were sadly the only fights i used spirit shell, and i didnt do too great with spirit shell. i'd say its good on kormrok, gorefiend, maaaaaaaybe on velhari, but still questionable and you could make a case for a few other fights like iskar or zakuun. pi is usable everywhere without limits. i'm really liking saving grace though.

Gorefiend? The fight where you have to spam from start to end? I honestly doubt you have the mana to do so unless you are heavily holding back in p1.

It's not even good during P2 since the damage is all sustained. Spirit Shell is really only run for the ability to give raid-wide additional health pools in advance of potentially lethal burst mechanics that can't be done by PW:S.

I was under the impression that SpSh did not benefit from Mastery... is that not true?

IMO spsh is still weak and not worth it, your net HPS and preventative HPS will be far superior in still taking PI. Personally haven't tried using more poh SS, but I don't think it's worth the high mana cost at all when you can just keep on PW:S. If you're that bored, take cow? :P
