is 2 hand frost a "bad" dps spec or just when compared 1 hand frost and unholy?

iv'e always preffered 2 hand frost to 1hand frost but iv heared that it cant compete dps wise, now do they mean compared to the other 2 dps specs or when compared to all other dps class specs?

Both, I would recommend if you enjoy 2h playstyle to go Unholy. 2H Frost in its current post 6.2 nerf status is not only the lowest DK dps spec, but you will most probably only be in a dps race with the tanks.

well thats settled it, i think il shelf wow until next expansion and then come back depending on what the next xp offers.

Imo it's only really viable if you've got best in slot gear. But then again, the other specs will still pull ahead simply due to how the bosses are designed in HFC.

I wouldn't hold your breath if you are waiting for 2h frost to be a competitive spec. 6.2 should have demonstrated to everyone that they don't care about it. I'll be surprised if it isn't outright removed in 7.0, and the only hope that it will be raid worthy in 7.0 is if they go the WW route, make 2h and DW play identically and make the choice of weapon cosmetic only. But that would require Blizzard to admit they have made a mistake, so again, don't hold your breath.

2h frost cant compare to DW Frost. DW Frost scales incredibly well with gear, while 2h frost has ALWAYS scaled very very poorly with gear. Plus the DW Frost buffs from 6.2 put it past 2H
