£500 laptop

Lots of posts from me today >.<
My dad is looking to spend £500 on a laptop from amazon.co.uk.

I haven't bought a laptop for a long time, I can understand the stats okay if I can just some advice on brands please. I know some come preloaded with junk while others have less.
Will be used for light duties only, no gaming or rendering of any sorts

That being said, it might be overkill with an i7 etc for "light usage". Its a good machine though for less than £500.
