Getting a new gaming PC, built one before but no expert. What should I be looking to get with a ~2k budget. Want a comp that runs current and future game at solid setting? Any suggestions/tips?
Budget : ~2000 Cnd
Resolution: 1080
Games / Settings Desired: Very High+
Any other intensive software or special things you do (Frequent video encoding, 3D modeling, etc): None
Country:Canada
Parts that can be reused: Mouse/None
Do you need an OS? Yes
Do you need peripherals (e.g. monitor, mouse, keyboard, speakers, etc)? Monitor Pref ~24", Keyboard
Hmm I wanna ask with that budget, would you like a 27" 1440p screen or is 24" 1080p(build will be cheaper) enough?
Also is a silent case something you want(usually 30-50 usd more)?
And finally about the keyboard.. Do you know what kind of a keyboard you want? Mechanical? If so do you know any switch type you like(silent, feedback, audible click?)
As your budget is that high though.. I would wait for Skylake launch(next week hopefully) to see where all the prices land.
27" 1440p screen is great if fits in budget well
Case doesn't matter too much
Mechanical Silent keyboard
Ill probably wait to see Skylake launch if that soon
if you're waiting for skylake the following can give you a ballpark, the list below is about what you would expect. I would wait for end of the month for more options and prices to settle.
Arguably, the only thing I'd change is the RAM to a higher-clocked set, as Skylake architecture gets more considerable gains from the higher clock-speed on the RAM. OTherwise, that build is sound for 1080p.
