<Reminiscence> is an Alliance semi-hardcore raiding guild on the Icecrown/Malygos (PVE) server. Originally formed by a small group of friends who have raided progression content together since early Classic, we cobbled together a heroic 10 man raiding guild for Mists of Pandaria when our previous guild from Cataclysm fell apart. Though we started slower than we had hoped, we managed to improve through each tier in Mists of Pandaria, going 10/16H in Tier 14, 11/13H in Tier 15, and we finished Siege of Orgrimmar 14/14H, US #63rd 10 man in February. We finished BRF at 16/17M, very close to finishing the tier.
Though we take progression seriously, we still try to keep in mind that World of Warcraft is still a game -- one to enjoy, not treat as a job. While our goals are ultimately the same as the most hardcore of raiding guilds, we strive to be as successful as possible with a more limited schedule. With less time for pushing progression each lockout, we try to maximize what time we do have by coming to raids prepared, focused, and ready, while still maintaining a lighthearted, mature atmosphere in the guild.

Even if your class or spec is not listed above, if you feel our guild is a good fit for you, please still get in touch. There is always room for exceptional players, regardless of class or role.
To start each tier, we often go to 4 nights a week for a very limited time (1-3 weeks max). This extra raid day will usually occur on Wednesdays (rare chance of Mondays, if Wednesday won't work), and there will be ample notification ahead of time. We will never, under any circumstances, raid on Friday or Saturday.
Attendance
Our policy is for each raider to maintain an attendance rate of 80%. We're aware vacations and real life situations occur; as long as the officers are made aware of it, it is not an issue. If your attendance drops severely below the minimum threshold, the officers will talk to you and, if not corrected, will impact loot rights and DKP. Is it also expected that, when a raider misses a raid, he or she posts in the appropriate forum to let the officers know in advance.
Loot System
We used a modified loot council system. We use an attendance tracker as a base threshold for certain key items (such as weapons, trinkets, and tier tokens). Once that is done, we use a variety of factors in determining where an item should go: how good the stats are for each person, the degree of item level upgrade, the person's overall performance, recent loot trends, and several other factors. Any questions about our loot system can be handled during a discussion with an officer.
Application Process
Our applicant process is pretty streamlined and straightforward. Upon entering the guild, you will be promoted to applicant rank. You will be in this phase for approximately four weeks. During this time, your fellow raiders will evaluate, comment, and give input on your raid performances and any other guild activity outside of raid, to better gauge you as a both a player and person. At this rank, you will have secondary loot privileges over main spec loot, but you have first priority on any gear a raider would consider off-spec or secondary.
Once those four weeks are up, we take a consensus vote on what should happen. There are three options: Yes, No, and "Need More Time". If the member consensus is "needs more time", the max extension on an application will be two weeks. If such an extension occurs, issues and possible improvements will be brought up to the applicant, allowing them time to try and improve and fix the areas our raiders are most concerned about.
