    World of Hatecraft

So the last 8-12 months I have seen nothing but absolute hate from this community to the game they all play. Legion was announced and it seemed like 80% of you were happy, and two days later it seems to be reversed. Now every post I see seems to be about how much they hate WoW, and how much they are going to hate WoW when Legion hits. They are trying to give us everything we want, and people are incessantly complaining about it. What is so wrong with the future of the game? If you honestly hate it as much as you all say, quit. Just quit. Prove that you actually hate this game so much, and quit. Don't come back if it is going to be such an awful upcoming expansion. It has really been getting to me seeing all of these negative posts about the hate people are expecting to experience.

Most people have quit or are planning to. They've dumped half their player base, and beta hasn't even started. This isn't going to look good before the end of it all.

People are jaded. I'm not going to bullshit and say that MMO-C is the most positive community in the world but it's also one that has very easily hopped onboard the hype train in the past, but think about it.

WoD had a massive hypetrain and many had second doubts about the concept but jumped on anyway despite misgivings and many flaws in beta. I think the saying "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me" comes to mind. People are apprehensive and that translates through text into negativity. Most of these people are going to try Legion, whether it be during beta or they're going buy it at release or once it goes on sale, but it's really hard to act excited for something when WoD was essentially a piece of shit wrapped in a box wrapped in gold.

It's easy to understand why people are negative, but you also have to take into account that most people that are posting about things are dissatisfied with them. Generally a satisfied person doesn't feel the need to run around telling everyone how happy they are with something.

Also, it is true that a lot of people are jaded thanks to WoD. They produced an expansion pack worse than Cataclysm, which was honestly surprising to me considering how bad Cataclysm was.

A huge part of the community is just lame. Goons, nerds, asocials, neckbeards. Trot out the stereotypes as desired, because a lot of 'em are here. And they are having a massive 'I hate my life but I will project it as Warcraft sucks' moment. Rather than finger (sorry, implicate) their mother and/or father, it's the developers. Who they actually have more of a relationship with, I would wager.

There's no getting around that. A HUGE portion of the (often former, but still here and biotching) fanbase are such.

Makes sense, but I enjoyed the raiding in WoD, and the scenery/questing experience. I am not getting so incredibly hyped for the next expansion, but I am hopeful. I'm optimistic about Legion, I think it is their opportunity to redeem themselves, and I think they look forward to doing so. That is why I am hopeful. I believe that they can turn it around with their hope to redeem their reputation.

It's pretty sad, yes. Even more so with those that quit 4 years ago and still come here. Wat?
They are mad because "it's for casuals", "LFD and LFR ruined socialisation!", "Blizzard is taking all our money", "we're not treated as valued customers!", "I don't want to be hero", "homogensation!!". Probably, they still have some kind of addication going on, but the game isn't what they want, so that makes them angry, like children.

I think WoD is alright, and I'm very excited about Legion as well.

Sometimes, coming here is like being in a maternity ward. QQQQQQ.

I used to drink a lot of Coka Cola until one day, it stopped tasting nice, so I quit. And that was that. I quit and went on with my life, and if certain individuals here would do the same thing, that'd be great. They are even worse than grandparents with their talk of the good old days. it's so sad.

That's the issue, though. Besides raiding, they are not developing much. Max-level open-world content is reduced almost to none. And from the looks of the upcoming expansion, this isn't improving in Legion.

Right, but when people are excited about something they generally post about it! Like a new expansion with new features in the game that their player base has been wishing for for quite some time! Like I am ecstatic about pretty much everything they announced for Legion. I hope they deliver, and I feel like they will because if they repeat WoD's let down of breaking their promises, and not delivering what they said they would, then WoW will drop below 2 mil subs and this could be the last expansion. I view it as game 7. It is the elimination expansion.

What more could they do? There are world bosses, treasure hunting, rare spawn hunting, Tanaan jungle Apex,Rep farming. This isn't a rude post, I am just challenging you and am genuinely curious as to what they could develop. Aren't Class Halls going to make it so you have to go out in the open-world at max level?

I love how people bitch at blizzard and say they dont listen to the player base and they post suggestions to fix it or have ideas for following expansions, then when blizz does it, its an immediate outcry of hate. Blizz cant win. People have too much sand in their vaginas and cant seem to douche it out.

If you hate the game and hate the direction it's going. Then shut the fuck up and quit playing. Simple as that. If you continue to play the game in such a terrible state that you think it's in, then it's all on you and you can still shut the hell up.

It should also be mentioned that we know next to nothing about the expansion yet, which is likely why you and others aren't feeling the hype. It's hard to be hyped about ideas with no concrete implementation and that's what we got.

It'll be interesting to see how things unfold and I think through all the negativity, that's really what players are looking at. Some people are pointing at specific details and turning a laser focus on them in pessimism and while some of the points are valid I think it'll take a lot of time before we can really tell if anything in the Gamescom announcement comes to pass as we think it will.

I would actually expect this to have the opposite affect. I have a pretty strong imagination, and when I heard of Demon Hunters I immediately imagined a new ranged heroic class with Fel abilities. Basically a warlock/hunter/rogue hybrid. So for me, having no concrete idea lets my imagination run wild with possibilities.

    Closing this.

Threads like this rarely do anything else but stir up forum drama because there's nothing really substantial to talk about. The 'community' is diverse and everyone has an opinion. The site would prefer everyone to talk about the game rather than each other.

As an aside: I could really go for a World of Lovecraft but that's something different entirely.
