A14 getting replaced by Dell - with this A15, advice needed

    Dear all,

my Alienware A14 had quite a lot of issues and Dell has offered to replace my system with an A15. If you could please give me feedbakc if you think the new laptop is allright. By the looks of it the A15 seems to be far better.

    This is my old A14:

    338-BCDP Processor : Intel Core i7-4700MQ (6MB Cache, up to 3.4GHz w/ Turbo Boost)
    391-BBDL Display : 14.0 inch (355.6 mm) WLED FHD (1920 x 1080) Anti-Glare Display
    370-AANF Memory : 8GB Dual Channel DDR3L at 1600MHz
    400-AARP 256GB mSATA Boot + 750GB 7200RPM SATA 3Gb/s
    429-AACW Optical Drive : Slot-Loading 8x SuperMulti Drive (DVD/R/RW)
    490-BBFM Graphics : NVIDIA GeForce GTX 765M with 2GB GDDR5
    555-BBET Killer NIC 1202 802.11n WiFi
    619-ACLQ Operating System : German Windows 7 SP1 Home Premium (64 BIT)

This is the new A15 they are offering to replace it with:
    338-BHOI Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4720HQ Processor (Quad-Core, 6MB Cache, up to
    3.6GHz w/ Turbo Boost)
    391-BBWQ 15.6 inch FHD (1920 x 1080) IPS-Panel Anti-Glare 300-nits Display
    370-AANG 16GB Dual Channel DDR3L 1600MHz (2x8GB)
    400-AHHG 256GB m2.80 NGFF TLC SSD + 1TB 7200 HDD
    490-BCLG NVIDIA(R) GeForce(R) GTX 970M with 3GB GDDR5
    555-BCDR Killer 1525 802.11ac 2x2 WiFi and Bluetooth 4.1
619-AEOC Windows 8.1 (64Bit) Mehrsprachig Englisch, Französisch, Deutsch,
    Niederländisch, Italienisch

I believe the GPU & CPU are far better - I paid to get 16gb instead of 8 gb memory.

    Any feedback is welcomed

    Thanks

So they're giving you a free upgrade (in all regards)? Besides the RAM upgrade that you said you had to pay for? Sounds like a sweet deal to me! The 970M is an absolute beast compared to the 765M (reference: http://gpuboss.com/gpus/GeForce-GTX-...Force-GTX-765M).
    Super casual.

pretty much that - people always say don't buy Alienware because the hardware is so much more expensive and you pay for the name etc but to be totally fair I had a lot of issues with the A14 and after 3 On Site visits and one sent off to the Depot Centre they offered me an exchange.
