Mythic Hellfire Council Post hotfix (11 august)

What did they do to Dia? Like she's doing triple the damage she did pre hotfix. Kills our raid even when we pop multiple healing cds(at the same time) during copy phases. On top of it, the "safe" spot is no longer safe.

How are people adapting to this?

We noticed the change but did the fight exactly the same pre nerf. 5 healed and rotated cooldowns properly. The only new hurdle was dealing with ghosts (sometimes) in the safe spot to where we'd just sidestep to the right. It's definitely more of a challenge, I won't deny it but still pretty doable. Keep at it.

We noticed the changes to the ghosts too. Former safe spot is getting crossed by a ghost more frecently. There are 2 different scenarios, sidestep to the entrance or moving into the corner right of their respawn position.

honestly blizz just shouldn't have touched the encounter at all. Yes it was bugged as hell, but the "fixxes" didn't really make things better.

Encounters shouldn't be changed 3-4 times after 500+ guilds killed it. Especially not by making them harder.

Yup, we've had to piss around with it. 1 shot it last week, this week we wiped on it for half of Wednesday night.

Killed it now after using 2 safe spots as opposed to 1 and having a huge fuck on with marks, since now you get them during the shadow phases etc which is a complete bloody nightmare.

Dead now, but fuck me I wish Blizzard hadn't "fixed" it, I don't like having to practically re-progress a boss for no reason.

One Week Later: After multiple revisions to the Hellfire High Council fight we have come to the conclusion that it is better for us just to remove the fight as it is too difficult to code. You will now just receive a loot chest upon entering the room, all the bosses have been removed.

Two Weeks Later: We forgot that the door to Kilrogg was coded to open after the encounter was defeated (sorry to anyone who hasn't killed Gorefiend four times). We have since decided to add the bosses back to fix the trigger, however they now only have one health.

Three Weeks Later: We forgot to add loot back to the Hellfire High Council encounter bosses when we removed the chest, this has since been fixed.

Four Weeks Later: When we fixed the bug that was causing loot to no longer drop from Hellfire High Council we accidentally swapped back in the full encounter of this boss. For the time being players will have to defeat the encounter, we are working on a hotfix for this issue.

I guess they're gonna hotfix until that "nuke Dia first" tactic becomes the standard.

We experienced the same thing. Having to scatter to take Reap out during Shadow Ghosts was a change that took us longer than it should have to sort out. One player taking reap out dies? Instantly have new marks on your stacked players as Reap hits, one shotting raid. GG

After killing Gorfiend last week, we were all quite hyped to get recleared and working on new bosses. What a damper to our raids spirits to spend half the night on a "farm" boss.

If it makes you feel better I think this happened to most people. Our second most wiped on boss this week was Council...

We killed it tonight after one hour of re-progress. You can still use the safe spot, just make sure to look up and sidestep right or left if ghosts are about to spawn, you have a few seconds to react. Also have someone to spot ghosts coming from the back. As for debuffs, just wait with dispelling the red ones until 10 seconds to reap and the damage will be fine. Make sure you have big healing cooldowns for every darkness + felstorm combo. As usual make sure to save damage reduction cooldown like Barrier and link for the last phase with only Dia.

Spent our entire raid day on it today. No kill. Newest iteration is a bloody nightmare.
Sinthetik, Blood DK, BM Monk, GM, Exiled From Hell, US Premiere Daytime Progression Guild. 7/7 Mythic HM, 10/10 Mythic BRF. 12/13 Mythic, 13/13 Heroic HFC.

Took us about 8 attempts to down it, the whole reap during visions, one player would die and then marks would spread to stacked raid grp and we couldnt get out in time was a constant issue, hotfix definitely help, but at-lease reap timers actually work now.

Nightmare phase is lasting anywhere from 10-20 seconds longer. So nearly doubled in duration. Since it lasts so long now, you also have reap occurring at the same time.
