I've noticed many inconsistencies in what AMR recommends in general. I haven't used it for decisions for quite some time because of that.

I'd recommend playing around with Simulationcraft to make decisions. It's not going to be as fast but the math is better

Old tier in favour of new tier? From what I've heard you don't want to be dropping set bonuses until you can get the new set bonuses. I'm not sure whether 2 set of each is preferable to the old 4 set though. The new set bonus should definitely be an improvement in general.

t18 2pc for destro is worth breaking t17 4pc. for afflic however going from t17 4pc mythic to t18 4pc heroic is a neutral dps gain, so it doesnt matter all that much for afflic.

Yeah but is it worth it to scrap 4pc t17 @670 for 4 pieces of 700? Still haven't seen a single piece of t18 yet.
