    Having problems finding a compatible MoBo for my build!

    Hey, I have a small problem. I wanted to buy the following components for a new PC build but by using UK part picker, it says that there aren't hardly any compatible motherboards for it and I'm not sure why. The compatible ones do not have prices on them apart from a few that are over £200 which seems far too high. I only wanted to spend £630-£640 ish on a PC at max, ideally cheaper.

    Here is the list:
    PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

    CPU: Intel Core i7-4820K 3.7GHz Quad-Core Processor (£227.94 @ Aria PC)
    Memory: Corsair Vengeance LP 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory (£36.94 @ Scan.co.uk)
    Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 960 2GB SuperSC ACX 2.0+ Video Card (£156.22 @ Amazon UK)
    Case: Fractal Design Define R4 (Black Pearl) ATX Mid Tower Case (£72.48 @ Aria PC)
    Power Supply: be quiet! 530W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply (£59.46 @ Scan.co.uk)
    Total: £553.04
    Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

    I originally wanted to get this cheap motherboard:

    http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Compo...roductId=62617

    But that wasn't in the list of compatible ones.
    Can anyone else?

    I don't need an OS or storage devices but I wanted an i7 as I do graphic design as well as games and want programs to be quick.

    You have chosen a 2011 socket CPU, http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/inte...bx80646i74790k this one for instance should work with the mobo you linked
    http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/inte...bx80662i76700k is the latest i7 but needs a 170 mobo, and DDR4

    Only problem is that they both are too expensive and go over my budget of £630 ish

    That's slightly over your current budget, though. It is, however, completely up-to-date.

    It's definitely a nice build. I was actually thinking about those NZXT S340 cases but after looking into it more I was put off and already really wanted the Fractal design R4 cases so I'd rather to stick to that.

    My main concern is the motherboard I chose. Is that AsRock one better? I dont think the one I picked was very popular but I don't know much about computer builds. Why exactly is mine out dated (if that is what you were referring to)?

    Thanks again.

    EDIT: Also to get the price lower for my budget, with the build you recommended, is the additional CPU cooler needed or would I be fine with the stock heat sink? If I need one I want to find a nice quiet one so I wanted to ask if that one was know to be quiet or not.

    1) That's fair;
    2) There's not much difference at that cost between the boards;
    3) You can go without,b ut given your request to use an i7, you'll not likely be able to overclock with the stock cooler, and IMO, it's easier to put the cooler in at that point than it is to add the 212 EVO onve it's in the case, but I'm willing to be overruled on that one..

    If you want Fractal design.. I would go for R5. Or if money is tight and you don't need 5.25" slot or more than 3 HDD slots Define S. Not that R4 ain't great, just R5 takes it to the next level and S is even more improved in airflow, but because it has no hard drive cages or 5.25" slots it's far cheaper.

    Yeah that makes sense, thanks. I'll go with the R5, looks very nice!

    Pretty happy with this list. Never had an AsRock mobo before

    Not 100% sure which PSU to get though. The one tenangrychickens linked seems more popular then any PSU by "be quiet!" but its a lot lower in watts, not sure how much that'll matter.

    This list is over my budget so I may have to get the CPU cooler later when I get more money.

    This list allows me to get an SSD which I've always wanted. I'm not fused about getting an SSD at a later date but by swapping CPU's I can get it earlier. Someone told me they are very good but I have no experience with them. Also I swapped PSU's for a cheaper one. Not sure on this either :S
