That sound like "everyone who does not carry around a gun is a potential nutcase who would snap if they got ther hands on one." Is that what you want to imply?

Random people being armed just escalates the whole thing, because robbers generally come more prepared than those who get robbed are.
That is why the police shoots first as soon as someone moves in some countries, because everyone could carry a gun even a six year old on a playground.

I doubt that's what he means.

That statement is just as ridiculous as some of the ones earlier stating that anyone who does carry a gun is bound to snap and murder everyone around them.

It's not escalation to defend yourself or others. If someone is willing to threaten you with a weapon they should be prepared to face the fact that other people are willing to defend themselves. Up to and including using lethal force.

Nobody but him said anything about "anyone who carries a gun is bound to snap". It was pointed out that if someone were to snap, they could do more damage if they happen to carry a gun and that someone who carries a gun is more likely planning to use it than someone who doesn't.

Where do you life that you need a gun to defend yourself on the way to the movie theatre to avoid getting robbed by armed attackers?
Are you sure that they won't shoot you first and then take your money if you wave around a gun?

You can see where I live under my profile pic

It's not a very dangerous place. But bad things do happen.

And I'm not sure they won't just shoot first and steal my shit. But I'd rather have the ability to defend myself then have to just stand there and take whatever it is they want to do.

Yes, I saw that the first time (I commented on it,r emember ), but as far as I am aware that is not a tiny homogenous place.

I think you are no more likely to be able to defend yourself, because you will be disabled first. If you get robbed it will most likely be an ambush and maybe a hostage situation.

And it could be. But on the off chance it's not then I'll have another option besides cower and hope I don't get hurt.

And I must have missed the part where you mentioned the city

This. The world isn't safe, and it never has been. Life comes with an inescapable amount of danger and unavoidable mortality.

We have a lower homicide rate then Germany, Spain, Denmark, New Zealand, Netherlands, Austria, Italy, France and Australia.....

That's really weird considering all those countries have some of the strictest gun control, yet more people are murdered their per capita.
What the hell are you on ?

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o..._homicide_rate

    Denmark: 0.8/100 000, rank #18
    Spain: 0.8/100 000, rank #19
    Germany: 0.8/100 000, rank #20

    Australia: 1.1/100 000, rank #34
    USA: 4.7/100 000, rank #108

Unless you mean you're outside the top 100 of LOWEST homicide per capita, of course. USA are on par with Niger and Yemen in terms of murders per capita. More than 10 African countries have lower rates than you do.
    Oh, hi.

I personally think the notion is silly, pretty sure you have better odd winning the powerball than becoming a victim of a murderer during a matinee.

    I'd pay nothing.
The reason being I live in a civilised country where I don't have to be the least concerned about Cinemas being shot up.....
