Remember how much guffaw Mitt got about wanting to take government subsidies away from companies that would survive on their own without government support, like Public broadcasting (PBS)? Everyone laughed at him saying that he wants to get rid of big bird. Well, looks like those who laughed can once again see that Mitt was right again!

That they could survive without the government supporting them. It's not about the 0.117% of the federal budget that is spent on PBS, it's just that if something is unnecessary, no matter how small, cut it from the budget. No sense in borrowing money from China in order to pay for things that are not necessary.

Look at NPR, I like some programs on it even, others I cannot stand though.
I don't think it should be getting taxpayer money, if you want to donate to support it or purchase from sponsors feel free.

The logic of the flawed OP doesn't even follow itself.

Sesame Street is one program of PBS. Furthermore, new episodes will not be seen by everybody. Plenty of people cannot afford HBO. Even if they all could, the money from one show isn't going to prop up the entire network.
