The way it's thrown around by the right, I was under the impression it was a political slur. If you're not an ultra conservitive in lock step with the far right of the republican establishment they're always throwing the Liberal slur at you. I tried, but after listening to him rail for over 10 minutes about BLM and affirmative action I ceased to care.

Expect he has lot of videos where he laughs at both left and right? Watch his video SJW or stormfront. It's funny that just because he has lot of right wing fans means he must be a neo nazi. I believe lately he had a video where he critized use of religion in politics and faced lot of negative feedback from his fans for example. That doesn't mean every one of his fans are right wing tho.

Mind you he is actually quite left on some economic issues. He actually discuses these issues and tries to give valid reasons for his believes while sourcing whatever he is showing. That's more than what most people do.

Probably has to do with that weird phenomenon in that "US politics that conservative= republican and liberal= democrat and that all republicans are racists and all democrats want the votes of anyone not white" and other similar nonsense you'll find on these kinds of topics.

Progressives in the US have free-floated between conservative and liberal parties in the US for about a century and a half; in all cases the party that doesn't have to pander to them paints the party that does as being made up of progressive nutjobs.

There was a maaaassive rhetorical push in the 80s and 90s to turn it into a pejorative and for a long time it was.
