Between Leo, Arty and Rexx, the most viable by far is Leoric.
I love playing Artanis and Leoric. Rexxar is fun, but on a lower level than the others.

Both very useful yet comp depending.
Artanis is nice but for me he fills more of an melee assassin role.
Rexxar I havent tried much recently but he seems more dependant on comp and unlike Leoric not even solo tank material.
Yeah out of those 3 Rexxar is the most enjoyable to play as IMO.
You should give them a try and see which one you prefer. I paid 10k for Rexxar and don't regret it. I play him all the time. I picked up Leoric and Artanis awhile ago and I barely touch them. It really is about which one you find the most fun using.
I've entered that phase where I already have a decent collection of heroes and there isn't 1 that I don't have that I particularly want to buy so let's see if people in here can give me some suggestions. This is what I have:
Assassin
Nova
Kerrigan
Jaina
Kael'thas
Raynor
Li'Ming
Valla
Lunara
Greymane
Warrior
Artanis
Cho'Gall
Lich King
Muradin
Diablo
Specialist
Xul
Sylvannas
Zagara
Azmodan
Abathur
Sgt. Hammer
Support (Don't enjoy playing Support much)
Tyrande
Malfurion

Gul'dan, Chromie, Dehaka? Medivh??
I basically have the heroes that I want and am quickly approaching the dreaded only-really-wierd-shit-left-to-buy situation. Never played Gul'dan, got the others at lv four or five. Don't feel any of them is really viable in ranked play in the sense of there ever being no better alternatives during draft. Chromie is fun if the opponent has no stealthers and divers. Medivh is generally fun, but people moan and cry if he gets as much as indicated during draft and he is really bad against KT and Miss Ming, who are still ubiquitous in wood league games. Halp!
Dehaka is probably the best choice.
But it depends since they all cover a different role.
Dehaka is quite viable on bigger maps , even in ranked play if you can convince the team to go double tank.
Chromie is nice on maps like Tomb (easy escapes usually), Towers of Doom and Cursed Hollow (interrupying objective) but regardless u cant pick her early draft.
Medivh is quite niche and requires coordination and trust from both sides of the team.
Gul'dan is not bad but mostly gets useful at 10 with fear heroic imo.
So my personal choice would be Dehaka. Good ganking potential, tanky, disruptive and global presence. You do however need good map awareness to be effective.
I am in the same boat. I got a ton of new heroes when I bought the anniversary bundle - so I really own a lot of heroes now.
Gul'dan and Chromie are very tempting, but I will have to test Gul'dan when he goes on free rotation.
Medivh is ok, but hard to master so I won't buy him. He can be played as a ranged assassin, but I need more practice and that can wait.
Dehaka is a problem. I have a number of warriors and most of the time I end up solo tanking. While Dehaka has been buffed for solo tanking, I think I am better off sticking with my current pool of Tyrael, Diablo, Artanis, (All 2nd tanks who can solo in bronze) as well as Arthas, Anub'Arak, Rexxar, ETC and Muradin (I dont play ranked on them, but these are my options).
I am sufficient in the few supports that are in the game. Got my comfort ones and only miss Brightwing, Tassadar and Tyrande in my collection
I still have 30K G so the plan is 2x 10K heroes minimum.
I will buy Sonya - 4K is cheap for such a good hero who I can use in HL
Next is TLV - I am am Level 9 on them and it's time to fuck around a bit more!
So 3rd slot its a toss-up between Chromie, Gul'dan, Sylvanas, Lunara, Greymane - you see I need another ranged DD.
Others I don't have: Li Ming (who is often banned), Tracer, Tychus, Falstad, Nova, Tyrande (Support but can be considered ranged damage dealer)

Cheers Muis. No Dehaka for me then. Map awareness is possibly my biggest weakness.
Yeah, I think that too from time to time when I read your stuff. We might be twins seperated at birth...
And buy Li Ming. She is fun to play and gives incredible control over team fights past level 10.

I can sub Li Ming for TLV as I know TLV is a bigger gamble in HL. I will try get a few more games on her to practice the orb build (when she is on free rotation) as I usually go for the missile talents. I am level 6 or 7 on her and have played a fair number of QMs on her with average success I ran into a 6 game QM losing streak once on her once which was very discouraging.

out of supports / healers, Im looking to buy one, what would be best to start off with?
Li Li and Mafurion are the best to start off with as they are cheaper, easy to play and have some diversity. You can save more for the other supports later.
Wait for Tyrande as she will be offered for free on September 13 if you've been around for long enough.

On another note, I posted some of my plans a month ago but I am still hanging onto my gold. I made 10K more gold more and bought Sonya, then made some more gold. I am around 37K gold. I am waiting for the free heroes in September, and that means I get to choose from Tyrande and 2 more (since i already own Anub'Arak and Thrall).
wow, there are so many heroes added since the last time I played, must go back and check them out soon.
To be honest, I disagree with the Malf /Li Li suggestion.
Li Li is decent but feels situational. Malf is overall just not that good.
Personally I'd recommend, depending on gold to spend, either Uther / Rehgar - Kharazim and probably Brightwing.
Uther / Rehgar bring alot of tankiness with them, have life saving ults and are just in a good spot right now.
Kharazim is pretty good but makes a comp sometimes too melee heavy. Also decent ult choice, with DPalm being a life saverand 7SS a good dmg ult for those pesky high HP tanks (Johanna/Muradin in Avatar).
Brightwing is actually in a pretty decent spot right now with the buff to her passive. Makes her a good AoE healer , has no skillshots and also 2 viable healing ults.
Too bad they removed the 30 hero rotation for vs AI otherwise I would've suggested to try that
All in all, I feel it depends on where you want to play them (unranked/qm is all viable, for ranked I dont feel Malf / Li Li are good).
Good luck tho, I feel alot of supports are in a decent/good spot. Some are just more comp dependant then others.
