Track down the people who made the decision and put them on trial for manslaughter, or if they engaged in a criminal conspiracy murder 2. They just gave the former president of a peanut company 18 years in prison for shipping tainted peanuts that killed 9 people, why shouldn't the same rules be applied here? (except for the fact that the car industry has far better lobbyists than the peanut industry)

The whole thing is so not at all surprising. Heck some of the guys that do technical documentations around here will tell you that if you fail the emission test, you just have to do it another time, because in some models the switching into the test mode takes longer...

They surely aren't alone in this and it serves them right, the whole automobile industry for that matter, since they are the biggest snake oil salesmen in all of the technical industries. Okay, maybe the nitwits that sell cloud stuff are worse.
