Its complex, they have done that true, but the ideologies are still there. Its one of those hard things to fully talk about and understand.

America is one of the factors. So was the Soviet Union, though to a lesser degree, and Israel. And of course the inner forces that laid dormant in the Middle East themselves.

Agree.. in fact if it was possible, religion should be totally banned as it's the no1 reason for war, people fighting, dying and destroying each others lives... simply due to the massive conflict about who's side got the best imaginary Superman!

Cool I guess. What happened to the older mosque? Was it torn down during communism?

No, it remained active. It was one of the few mosques (and temples in general) that did in fact.

Russia is issuing visas to Russians who want to leave Russia and go to Syria to fight for ISIS. After they leave Russia starts criminal charges against them so they can't return to Russia.

Now that the Russian military is in Syria, the Russian military will fight some of these ex-Russians.

russian have the method to deal with extremists, they bury them in a siberian gulag and gg, we instead leave them preaching hatred because hey they have rights, that is the difference.
Immagine a sharia gang going around moscow? it will last 2 minute until a russian beat them down to a pulp and police arrest them.

Yeah, right, because in their visa applications they write that they wanna go to Syria to fight for ISIS. Also, they are smarter than that. THey actually get Turkey visas (pay 20 dollas at airport in Turkey) and then leak to Syria.

No, we'd make a lawsuit against them and force them to publicly explain themselves. That's what happened when a Russian lawyear advocated Shari'a law. There was a hate speech lawsuit against him (article 282, the same one used to ban Neo-Nazis - quite appropriate, isn't it?) and though that was eventually revoked he had to publicly announce that he changed his views and explain that he only wanted to use Shari'a to settle minor disputes.

    Not our allies. Our people.

Seriously? You guys will criticise Russia no matter what we do? We can't even build a goddamn mosque?!

Its 2015 and we're still building Mosques? What the heck...

Save the money and build a science exhibit or something, maybe a planetarium.

Do you think US should remove tax exemption from churches and use the tax revenue on science exhibits or something?

There are a few, with several clubs too. You will not see hanged and severed gays on streets, and drunk KGB patrols on bears too.

Only in winter though, since bears are in hibernation at this time of a year.

Imo just a huge waste of money, we should be moving away from religion and focus more on todays age.

It should. Every country should remove any sort of benefits towards religious institutions. they are businesses, arguably scam businesses at it, but thats a matter of belief or lack of. Makes no sense they dont pay taxes.

What I was trying to point out is that U.S. does something similar. In fact, even saying funding going to science in U.S. would be controversial. We still have arguments over creationism being in schools...
