Polystyrene *can* be recycled, but if it isn't, it doesn't degrade. In addition, there are plenty of acceptable alternatives for all applications. Ban was fine.

Deforestation still happens for consumer products. But paper is most often recycled and easy to do so - that's why we haven't run out yet.

Wow, the judge used Orlogic here. That it can be recycled cost effectively is 99% irrelevant because the issue is that people don't recycle anyway, hence the ban in the first place. The judge overturned it on the basis that it's not needed to solve a problem it wasn't designed to solve.
