Judging by our attempts to teach apes sign language, I sincerely doubt we'll accomplish much by the endeavor.

I'm referring on the basis of genetic engineering. We could easoly modify hominids to speak if we had to, but im asking about dolphins.

They're not built for human speech. Also, they're assholes. If you're going to 'uplift' an animal, go for one that doesn't suck so much.

I actually wrote a book review for this... That book was a struggle.

It's not one of her better books, but they kind of tapered off when her son started getting involved.

Still love her Harper series.
