One of our tanks kept dying in Mythic Hellfire Assault

    hi,

Could this be a healing issue ?

Or could it be a dps issue ?

My Guild Was Having An Issue Like This, The Tank On One Side Kept Dying, We Figured Out That It Was The Brutes, Tanks Calling For Externals "Sac ,Barkskin" Or Getting Hand Of Protection(Followed By Freedom / Clicked Off By Tanks) Helped Keep Them Up Long Enough To Finish Off Those Mean Guys.

Make sure to use a Hand of Protection on tanks when their debuff gets too high and it will fix that.

The berserker's 'slam' ability stacks and will rape your tank if the dps don't kill it in a reasonable amount of time. There is really nothing else tanks can die to in this encounter. Chances are the dps on that side is low and/or people are too busy being bad padding meters and not targeting what they are supposed to (or both). Until you're quite geared, this is very much a single target fight for 90% of the time. All of your dps need to be on the berserkers on their respective side whenever they are alive. You either need to balance out dps a bit better or tell them to stop padding meters. Suppose you can BoP like spot said but if you play correctly you don't need to.

Yeah hand of protection (make sure tank has cancelaura macro) will clear the debuffs then he just has to get them back, death grip + taunt if theres 2 adds or whatever. As a druid I can displacer beast and kite them around until stacks fall off as well, for a DK maybe some clever play with a life grip could get that done but a bit complicated. Hopefully dps would be high enough targetting them so that 2 aren't up for long but I can imagine how some guilds can't pull it off perfect.

If your tank is bad an has no cancelaura macro you can overwrite it with hand of freedom.

Mythic Hellfire Assault is an extremely easy fight from a healer perspective. If you're wiping on it, it's generally due to DPS or tank failures.

paladins on both sides specced into clemency
    /cancelaura Hand of Protection
for our tanks on progression, 4+ stacks of the physical debuff was where it started to get dangerous so expect to use your bops there if needed. dps should obviously be prioritizing berserkers over basically anything else except machinery that directly attacks the cannons, transporters, and transformed felcasters. there are only a few points where berserkers become a very serious threat to tanks (provided dps are prioritizing targets properly), but bops negate that very easily. if you don't have paladins you will need some clear communication for external CDs but it is still very doable. dps not dying to stupid shit early will also free up your brezzes which is another way to clear stacks in a pinch, which should be easy as the only way to really die on this fight is to bombs or that green spiral thing that Grand Corruptor Whatever uses at the 3min mark

Dps priority Meta caster > brutes> everything else. Unless there is a war machine up, then focus the war machine UNLESS the brute attacking your tank on that side is about to get to 5+ stacks, then kill the brute before your tank gets gibbed.

If you are too slow killing the brutes, no amount of cooldowns will save your tank from getting wrecked. They also need to be savvy as to when the fight gets hectic and they need to chain a few cd's before a brute goes down. If one is up and there's a siege engine coming, start chaining cd's to make it easier on everyone else to get the siege down.

Also bring the mobs in close to the siege engine for cleavage, unless they are felcasters. DPS those in between sieges and when a brute is fresh, never phase them when there is a brute up because that dps loss will result in a tank death more often than not.

Here's a log from our DK tank a couple weeks ago: https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports...taken&source=4

You'll notice his average damage taken from the hulking berserkers is 210,000 https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports...e=4&target=152

Whereas mine (prot warrior) is 94,000 https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports...e=9&target=152

3 DPS pretty low. Under 50k on this add pad fight is unacceptable, especially that warlock going affliction, which is a straight single target long burn, when you need cleave, execute and burst. If they cannot L2P the optimal specs on mythic progression then dont even bother taking them.

DK tank is a bit on the low side on ilvl to tank it, especially when hes using double DPS trinkets
    http://us.battle.net/wow/en/characte...octix/advanced
which provide no survival on top.
DPS trinkets can be used, but not recommended when hes undergeared, on progression and raid is lower ilvl which can't just overpower the encounter
