Transhumanists: What branch of H+ do you identify with?

There are multiple branches and ideologies of transhumanism that exists. Transhumanists, what branches or ideologies of H+ do you identify or support. I'm still trying to get the H+ Community to recognize Biological Uplift as a form within Transhumanism, but otherwise I consider myself a Libertarian Transhumanist, support of almost unlimited control over your body and how you choose to use it. I also support the extension of human life. How about you my fellow Transhumanists?

Transhumanism itself is a movement of beliefs of the enhancement of humanity into a posthuman or even subjectively divine state of existence. I use to term branches to outline certain specific ideologies that people support or believe within Transhumanism.

Yeah, this one. Bring on the cybernetically and biotechnologically-enhanced future. I'm ready and willing to become more than a human being.

I am also very much in support of the extension of natural life, but with one specific caveat: strict population control, at least until (if ever), humanity populates other worlds.

I think the tangible goals and means to get there of transhumanism are so vague it's laughable.

I'd love a rundown of what transhumanism actually entails, in specifics rather than vague slogans.

Well Transhumanism is vague, but that's because it's a movement. However the main goal of Transhumanism vaguely is to better the human state of being.

Yeah, but like 99% of movements could say that. How exactly?

Well that's where the different views and ideologies come in; life extension, post-genderism, assimilation, genetic enginerring prevention from disease. I know Connal knows a good deal more than me, if or when he responds on this post I advise you to ask him.

I think a better comparison would be how to get to space. The end goal is getting to space, but each way having deviations from each other.

Raspberry. Or strawberry. No raspberry, final answer.

OT: I also support the extension of human life, now how do I do it?

Scientists actually have found ways to extend life, but none of it has had human experimentation as of yet.

Lots of interesting research going on now, increasing muscle strength and extended lifespan etc.

But what is the movement about? Or what does the label mean?

Lots of people are interested in life extension.
There's plenty of feminists and trans movements wanting post-gender society
Assimilation in society/culture is a value or political opinion, assimilation into computers is a technology not an opinion.
Genetic engineering to prevent disease is a medical research field.

I don't get how any of this is a movement..

I've read Connals posts on it too, didn't make any more sense to me.

I just want to be like Superman. If I become a "Transhumanist", can I become Superman?

    Thanks.

So I'm supporting something that is only theoretical? Seems a bit pointless.

What aspects of this transhumanism are actually possible now? Perhaps it's better to discuss reality than fantasy?

Transhuminism is about bettering the state of being human by altering what it even means to be human. Artificial life extension well beyond what can be considered a natural life span is the easiest and most obvious example.
