    Great -.-

Well, luckily I nintenDon't, and since they have hijacked the whole FF franchise, I have to miss out on more games of this great series.

A different article that confirms the removal. This is my final update to this thread.

Oh noz, my fan service what will I do?!

Nah, I don't condone censorship in localizations but when it's as silly as this I really don't care.

Would rather have a physical release then some stupid out fits I will never use.

Oh noez!!! Whatever will we do without the ability to run around in scantly-clad versions of video game babes?

I swear it's like people forget the internet is full of free porn.
Human progress isn't measured by industry. It's measured by the value you place on a life.

    Just, be kind.

Too bad, seeing they are removing content and censoring, any interest i had in the game is gone.

The point of the story is there. All censorship is bad, but the only censorship I personally give a shit about is that which greatly effects the story and atmosphere the game is trying to portray.

You know why Nintendo didn't censor Bayonetta? Because it fit the wonky story and was part of the atmosphere. This shit on the other hand is just cheap fan service with no real place in the game and nothing worth crying about.

Don't really give a shit about your excuses, censorship is censorship.

This is simply a lost sale for Nintendo.

EDIT: oh hey look at that.

There are plenty of websites where you can go view a half-naked woman, virtual or otherwise. Hell, there are even a small handful that show fully naked women!

Spoilers: Games have been "censored" for decades when being localized for different regions.

This isn't new. This isn't unique.

It's disappointing, especially considering I thought running around in a horror game in lingerie was "top keks" of the highest order, but in reality it's an extremely minor and largely insignificant change done to make a game more appropriate for another region or for that company/product image in another region.

They thought they could sell more copies without the lingerie but with the peach/samus outfits, so they made the change.

Yes it isn't anything new, and i am yet to buy censored games, games that have been altered from the original.

It was a lost sale for me the moment they decided this wasn't getting a physical release and Devil's Third was. I'll snag it later when it eventually drops in price.

Guarantee you have bought a censored game before, especially if you regularly buy more niche japanese games.

NISA, AKSYS and ATLUS in particular have something censored in nearly all of their localizations. Not to mention how censor happy square used to be back in the 90s and early 2000s.

XSeed is pretty much the only Japanese localization company that pretty much never censors anything.

The game is a lost sale for me because NoA is too cheap to make a limited print run of physical copies, not because of stupid fan service being censored. If your reason for not buying a game is lack of "sexy out of place outfits" you should seriously evaluate why you buy games. There are plenty of reasons to boycott this game with the fanservice censorship not even scratching the surface.

Original release, or original design concept? Because games start getting "censored" early on in production as content is often cut out from initial design documents either due to time/budget constraints or due to devs/marketing folks deciding that some of the initially planned content would be better suited if for launch audiences (either globally or in different regions) if it was either removed or altered.

Hell, many major AAA games see censorship based on which country they're released in. Will you not buy any game that's "censored" at all in any country?

No, i fucking hate censorship, it makes my blood boil.
If i end up buying a game that have been altered or censored from it's original release, it's because i didn't have any knowledge of the changes.

Yes and half the games NISA brings over are niche games that only a niche playerbase wants, and i reckon they lose more sales on censoring these games than they gain on it.
Who the fuck buys Criminal girls outside of a niche playerbase? Most people i know atleast, including myself were simply pissed that it got censored, and they lost interested in buying it, yes i know rating issues and regional laws/regulations are involved here, but it doesn't make it any less idiotic.

Completely and utterly fucking missing my point.
Censoring and altering games from it's original goes beyond just "removing fanservice"
It can change and ruin personalities of characters, it can ruin the story, it can ruin the charm of the game.
Yes i'll go and far and say this is the case for this game aswell.

I don't need to evaluate anything, censor and alter a game? I won't be buying it, at worst case i think it's a mockery towards the developers original vision.

I'm talking strictly original releases here, games being changed during development is a completely different ball game.
Not that i am a fan of games having content and whatnot being cut during development either, but this is something i blame publishers alot for, i absolutely welcome developers using more time on their games to get their original vision through.

Isn't it bad enough we don't get any English Eroge? Now games that look slightly sexy are getting censored...
