    Idle temperatures

Why am I barely seeing any difference between having the fan profile on turbo and silent? In idle it's sitting around 35c @ 450ish rpm on silent, with it on turbo it's on about 1100 on idle, but it's not really getting any lower... Why is this? Temp in the room is around 22-26c depending on if the sun is on the windows or not. Maxes out around 65c so I guess it's all fine and so on with that but still.

Because 35C is as low as you can go before room temperature. Raising the speed of the fan won't lower the temp because the heatsink can't pull heat away fast enough. So there's no point raising the fan speed for idle temperatures. You want it max when under load. Temps look good anyway so what's the point?

You want to lower it any further look into lapping the CPU and heatsink.

Another thing you can do is to delid the CPU. That will help lower the temperature but good luck without breaking the CPU. Heard someone tried this with a 6700K and chipped the CPU.
