Pretty much. Mainly because of bugs and bots. Bots Ave rwmt was so bad they closed servers for a month to new players. Even though I still want to try it but I can't cause the launcher is garbage and there's no fix

I still play it. But it's super casually with my girlfriend. Killing monsters while looking at pretty graphics and listening to nice music. I can't play it for hours and end, so normally we just play for an hour (or a level or something like that). I definitely don't regret buying it, but I wouldn't like it much if I didn't approach it as casually as I do.

Could it also just be that the locked down new subs mean people have lost interest? I was kinda hyped to try this after the MMO Grinder's review of it, but the locked off new subs have pretty much killed any interest I may have had. Too many new games are starting to launch for (me personally) to care about this game anymore.

A shame, as it did look kinda fun. Still....we're approaching like 2 months where you still can't join? Crazy!

EDIT: haha, a day after I post the above, it's announced Tree of Savior is open again to new players.

This review really stands out:

Developers started out with one of the best and most nostalgic IPs for an MMO in history.
Shortly after launch, decided (as most studios do), that money was more important than reputation.

A brilliant idea appearead!
It's a pay lock on trading!
It doesn't look like suicide.
Let's do it anyway!
Player's explode. Rage. Riots in the streets.
Let's ignore them.
Doesn't go well.
Let's ignore them some more.
Getting worse. Bots rampant, original excuse failing.
Numbers on the steady decline.
Add new content!
Not fixing the major issues.
Less than 100 players on some servers.
F-it! Lock all existing costumes behind pay wall!

TOS last 6 months in a nut shell. Don't even bother trying it. The grind is unreal with 0 decent development or content left.

Ragnarok is still great fun, the combat in this game is almost flawless to me, killing stuff is always a blast, and the classes complement each other greatly. I'm currently playing a Steel Body Champion, with a Redemption Paladin saving my ass, and a Wizard + High Priest combo. We can take almost anything, and it is great.

I wouldn't say it's flawless, it's 80% autoattack for most non-caster builds. Not too much of a combat system tbh.

Decided to pick this up and wanted to nerd out about it.

What makes it a good game for me:
-Love the visual and art style
-Love the customization in gameplay, stats, special effects, gear, gems, enchants (ITS CRAZY!)
-Love the combat
-Love how imaginative some classes are

The customization is simply insane...you can be 4 different classes each one with their set of abilities.
Example:
Scout > Yakuza > Pirate > Ninja

This game made me realize...i dont give 2 fucks about many things in a game...i only care about customization in gameplay and combat with a bit of roleplay on the mix and multiplayer.

This game is not many things...
But the things IT does right...tickle my fancy

I managed to have 3 classes in 10 hours level 170

I am
Scout > Outlaw (Yakuza) > Ardito (jack of all trades with unfair tactics)

I only need one more class Im going to pick Shinobi and i can do it pretty early.
The game has 400 levels though BUT you can be your personal "4 class" early"

I have no idea about all the technicalities of the game and endgame.
But i am a customization nerd in gameplay so it feels fun to create your own personal class and play it

If I remember correctly, you can even go with the same class up to 3 times I believe, like:

Scout > Scout > Scout

Allowing you to have stronger versions of that class skills or some shit, can’t recall correctly.

I prefer crazy builds though and i want to see what happens when i mix and mesh 4 classes together so exciting
