You don't choose a president, a president is chosen for you by the media. You have no word in the process.
The core idea of democracy is compromised when hundreds of millions of people have surrendered their minds to a system that tells them what to believe in.

It was already clear that she was going to be the one to run from day one.

And let's be honest. The other candidates lack the political support and connections and some are too socialist to ever be elected in the US.

She was chosen before the election even began, webb and chafee were just put in to not make it look so obvious. Sanders came out of no where but he will fold like the rest.

Seems to suggest she's 20-40points ahead of sanders. There's not really surmountable.
The usefulness of traditional polling methods pretty much died with the land line. Not one single pollster successfully called the results of the Canadian election within any useful error margin.

EDIT: Also 3 months before the election the NDP had a decisive lead. But they shit the bed with their campaign strategy and the left all slowly spent the campaign lining up behind Trudeau.

Hillary and bush are the same person, they work for the same people, they talk around the water cooler with each other and have the same goals. Their goals are to take all of your stuff and make you a slave.

Good old American democracy and meritocracy at work.

First the son of a previous president runs for president.

Now the wife of a previous president runs for president.

How far we have come from the unenlightened days of monarchy and primogeniture.

Well seeing as one of the guys who's currently running is an orange-skinned raving dumb ass, both the people you mentioned would be better choices than he.

The past like... four elections were pretty damn close for that to be the case.

Whatever lizard men illuminati templars are running the world apparently need to get their mind control machines set to the right frequency. There's far too much dissonance happening for their master plan of converting us all into sushi or whatever the hell they're all supposedly planning.

Don't get me wrong, Trump is clearly insane or trolling or both.

But you can't elect sons/wives of former presidents and still think of your political system as a functioning democracy, let alone the world's greatest democracy.

It suggests a combination of nepotism, idiocracy and dysfunction that seems a better fit for a banana republic, or just a do-over.

I think us Brits should just re-invade you. We have a monarchy, but we only keep them around for the tourists.

I think it would be amazing if Hillary got the Democratic candidacy, Trump got the Republic candidacy, and Trump wins purely through spiteful Democrat votes, because huck Fillary.
If you are particularly bold, you could use a Shiny Ditto. Do keep in mind though, this will infuriate your opponents due to Ditto's beauty. Please do not use Shiny Ditto. You have been warned.

But both candidates essentially have the same policies and the same views. They only differ on "fake" issues that don't affect the economy or the way the country is controlled.
You've never had a real choice in decades. Bernie Sanders is one of these rare choices that you may have, once every 50 years, but he is being ignored by the media because they have already decided who the candidate is.

What predisposes them to be incompetent leaders?

And furthermore, who was Bill Clinton when he ran for president? Was he the son or nephew of a president? How about Obama? Ronald Reagan was originally a movie star, Jimmy Carter was a farmer, and I could continue.

That political figures have political experience isn't some "grand conspiracy" in my mind. Whether you've an affinity for their political disposition or not, Jeb Bush was the governor of Florida for 8 years and Hillary Clinton was secretary of state on top of having been a New York state senator for 8 years. They aren't just random "name-famous" people who happen to be related to famous political figures but have no political experience. And even if Bernie Sanders is your "go-to guy," well, he isn't some dark-horse philosopher-scientist candidate... he too was a senator AND congressional representative, and prior to that was a mayor.

Meanwhile, the "name-famous" guy with zero political experience running thinks we should get Mexico to pay to build a border fence to keep themselves out of the United States.

Have to agree with you on this one. It is just baffling to me that the populace hasn't figured this out yet. Politicians divide the "masses,"(a real leader would unite people, not try to divide) tricking you into fighting: conserv vs. lib, left v right and pub v dem. It is all just to distract you so that they can run away with the money, while they laugh about it at an expensive party paid for with your tax dollars.

My favorite part is when people talk about what the parties "stand for." They stand for nothing.

They have no morals at all they just care about power and taking your money....... Do you really think Hillary, Sanders, Trump, Rubio, Jebbers or whoever cares about you and your family? Really?

Is this where you tell me to vote for Ron Paul?

I don't think any president can care about someone and their family on an individual basis, but if anyone on that list could or would genuinely want to, its Sanders.

Great idea. We shouldn't listen to people who try to influence our decisions.

Well it's obvious he's an enlightened individual far above the mental acumen of us plebeians, thoroughly free from the influence of media and arrives at conclusions based on entirely empirical evidence collected via critically-thought out examinations of all potential facets of the issue.

I mean, y'know, it's not like he's some random guy on the internet or something.
