Recruitment
We are looking to add two DPS to our roster, preferably a Balance Druid, Deathknight, Rogue, Mage, Warlock or Warrior. Exceptional DPS always welcome to apply.
We recruit for raiding spots, not for the bench (no one sits frequently unless they volunteer). We keep an intentionally small roster so high attendance is mandatory. Applicants should be properly gemmed and enchanted and can demonstrate that they have made an effort to maximize their character.
We are stable and efficient
We have been a guild since vanilla with the same guild/raid leader throughout, both great testaments to our stability. We are efficient, maintaining our three-night schedule while keeping up with many guilds raiding more days. Unlike other "three night" or "12 hour" guilds we actually raid three nights/12 hours.
We care about raiding
Members are required to come to raid prepared with consumables and knowledge of boss mechanics. We use a custom loot system that quickly allows newer members to gear up while still rewarding the high attendance of older members.
We care about our real lives
We are a diverse community with people from many backgrounds and even though we down the content we still like to have a good time--we have had a guild meetup in Las Vegas, rent a house for Blizzcon, and did a Secret Santa for the holidays! Racist, sexist, and homophobic comments, general disrespect, and harassment are not tolerated anywhere in guild; those who cannot treat others with respect need not apply.
We are active in the community
Many members of our guild are very well known to the playerbase. Several of our members maintain blogs, guides, are mods at very prominent WoW sites, we have members that work on addons that you probably use, we have a forum MVP, and a number of our members have even had items named after them! If you aren't though don't worry--I'm not either--it is not a requirement!
We live on a good server
Whisperwind is an Alliance-dominated server with a healthy raiding population, a decent economy, and mostly good-natured trade chat. At the end of WotLK our entire guild (literally) chose to move here for these reasons.

<Reminiscence> is an 9/13M Alliance semi-hardcore raiding guild on the Icecrown/Malygos (PVE) server. Originally formed by a small group of friends who have raided progression content together since early Classic, we cobbled together a heroic 10 man raiding guild for Mists of Pandaria when our previous guild from Cataclysm fell apart. Though we started slower than we had hoped, we managed to improve through each tier in Mists of Pandaria, going 10/16H in Tier 14, 11/13H in Tier 15, and we finished Siege of Orgrimmar 14/14H, US #63rd 10 man in February. We finished BRF at 16/17M, very close to finishing the tier.
Though we take progression seriously, we still try to keep in mind that World of Warcraft is still a game -- one to enjoy, not treat as a job. While our goals are ultimately the same as the most hardcore of raiding guilds, we strive to be as successful as possible with a more limited schedule. With less time for pushing progression each lockout, we try to maximize what time we do have by coming to raids prepared, focused, and ready, while still maintaining a lighthearted, mature atmosphere in the guild.
To start each tier, we often go to 4 nights a week for a very limited time (1-3 weeks max). This extra raid day will usually occur on Wednesdays (rare chance of Mondays, if Wednesday won't work), and there will be ample notification ahead of time. We will never, under any circumstances, raid on Friday or Saturday.
Attendance
Our policy is for each raider to maintain an attendance rate of 80%. We're aware vacations and real life situations occur; as long as the officers are made aware of it, it is not an issue. If your attendance drops severely below the minimum threshold, the officers will talk to you and, if not corrected, will impact loot rights and DKP. Is it also expected that, when a raider misses a raid, he or she posts in the appropriate forum to let the officers know in advance.
Loot System
We used a modified loot council system. We use an attendance tracker as a base threshold for certain key items (such as weapons, trinkets, and tier tokens). Once that is done, we use a variety of factors in determining where an item should go: how good the stats are for each person, the degree of item level upgrade, the person's overall performance, recent loot trends, and several other factors. Any questions about our loot system can be handled during a discussion with an officer.
Application Process
Our applicant process is pretty streamlined and straightforward. Upon entering the guild, you will be promoted to applicant rank. You will be in this phase for approximately four weeks. During this time, your fellow raiders will evaluate, comment, and give input on your raid performances and any other guild activity outside of raid, to better gauge you as a both a player and person. At this rank, you will have secondary loot privileges over main spec loot, but you have first priority on any gear a raider would consider off-spec or secondary.
Once those four weeks are up, we take a consensus vote on what should happen. There are three options: Yes, No, and "Need More Time". If the member consensus is "needs more time", the max extension on an application will be two weeks. If such an extension occurs, issues and possible improvements will be brought up to the applicant, allowing them time to try and improve and fix the areas our raiders are most concerned about.

We're a raiding guild looking for more active raiders for mythic progression. Our main focus is promoting a fun, friendly, and relaxed atmosphere, with progression as a close second. First and foremost we want to be a close group of friends. To us, downing bosses is way less meaningful if it was only for the purpose of getting that kill. Loot System:
We use a +1 loot system. Under our system, each main set piece of gear that you win will give you a stacking +1 for the week’s lockout. Thus if you win 3 pieces for the week you will have a +3, until Tuesday’s reset. Everything is treated as a free roll unless someone rolling against you has a lower score than you, in which case the person with the lowest score automatically wins. If multiple people have the lowest score, it is still a free roll amongst those raid members. This is to ensure everyone has a fair chance at getting loot. During progression, preference on tier pieces is given to those who can complete a 2 or 4 set bonus.
Qualifications:
Attendance is our number one priority, and consistency is extremely important to us. We understand life comes over the game and we also understand sometimes things come up. However, we need people to show up on time or at least communicate their absence. Arriving late without sufficient notice results in an automatic +1 for your gear rolls for the night.
Raid experience is preferred, but we have shaped new players into great raiders before. We are willing to help you improve as a raider. We keep nightly logs of our raids, and have several members who are willing to discuss your raid performance with you. Just be willing to listen and learn if you aren't experienced. You need to be able to be open to constructive criticism.
