    I personally use an air compressor. It is by far the best option, albeit not the cheapest.

    If you leave the pc plugged in but with the switch on the wall or on the psu in the pc set to the off position you won't get esd. You will be connected to earth via the plug in the wall but will have no power flowing through anything as it's in the off position.
    Do not wait to strike till the iron is hot; but make it hot by striking.
