Horde I need a Pc for Wow

College Student Budget- $500 (Ill be living on Ramen noodles even at that price point)
Casual Gamer - only desire to play wow on medium or low settings for good framerate and minimal computing needs otherwise.
Never built a Pc before but confident in my ability and willingness to learn, if equitable.

I have been looking at the Alienware Alpha Console/Pc currently on amazon for $399.99
It seems this or something similar would fit my needs, Recommendations?
I have no hardware to start with other than a monitor, not even mouse and keyboard...
    Thank you for your time!

I can guarantee you the Alienware won't do you well.

    So, $500 is pretty tough.

If you don't need a Windows key, then I'd love to suggest some improvements, however you might have to pay tax on your purchase anyways, and to that effect, you wouldn't have much room for improvement. Maybe move to a bigger HDD or get 8GB of RAM (preferred) but honestly, at this budget, it's tough to beat this, I think. Managed to keep you in the Intel i3 core range, which is a good thing, and the 750 Ti should be more than enough for WoW.

At 1080p, I'd imagine you could run the game on high, but don't quote me on that.

Not sure why deltrus went for 4360 but a 4170 would do the job and its cheaper. As a student you should be able to get a free o/s copy from uni/college. With that in mind i will give you then non o/s version with mouse/keyboard.

Honestly it was a little bit of an older build, but I tweeked almost everything. Little out of the loop on the less expensive parts though, what's the reason the 4170 is $30 cheaper? Only difference I'm really seeing is Intel HD Graphics 4400 vs 4600.

Either way, Kostattoo's is probably a fair better option.

The i3 4360 has better igpu, if a dedicated would not be present it would have been better but then probably an A10 would have been even better. Anyway in this case we got a dedicated gpu so i don't see a reason to spend money on that (the 4360). If it wasn't for the keyboard/mouse i would almost fit a skylake i3 which is even better.

    Fair!

These super-low budget gaming rigs are always the interesting ones to try and piece together, eh?

Well not very interesting but definately need some digging if its something you haven't worked with or read on about it. Low money constrains usually don't leave you with many choices unfortunately ><

See that's the part I think is interesting.

It takes more time and effort to research cheaper builds pretty often, simply because you really want to squeeze every gram of power possible out of the items going in the rig.

Also just noticed the GTX 950.

I'd thought about that, and if the OP were not needing an OS, then yeah, the 950 would be a nice little way to get some more performance.

Just posted that on the WoW forums for someone.

    Why stick with Haswell?

You could go cheaper here forgoing the Z170 board - i put it in this build so the guy i was posting it for originally could upgrade later to an unlocked CPU. If you dont care about that - you can get an H110 for about 45$ that will do the job just fine.

This is good and future proofed, I would get a WD HDD though, Seagates just dont hold up.
