1. #1

Everyone at Gamescom and Blizzcon are a bunch of White Knight cowards...

After watching both these events I waited to see what questions all these morons that spent hundreds of dollars to be there ask.

No one asked the 2 most important questions...

    1. Why and for what reason was all the content that was promised at Blizzcon 2013 removed at launch? Plus why did we have to pay more for it?

The first was having 7 zones to play through. With 2 of those zones being faction specific which in reality each faction we chose only were allowed to play 5 zones at launch. Tanaan was supposed to be released but was removed and months later implemented. On top of that Farahlon & the Ogre zone were removed completely. So in the end we got 6 zones.

Next on the list was Capital cities. Both Karabor and Bladespire Fortress were removed and Ashran became the main hub. This was the moment I knew this expansion was going to suck. Having Ashran as a main hub to force people to PVP didn't work. Nobody goes to Ashran if any content should have been removed it should have been Ashran. Which brings me to the next one.

Trial of the Gladiator/battlegrounds removed. Build and commandeer siege vehicles and reduce enemy bases into rubble. Gone.

Dungeons- Scenarios & challenge mode removed. In addition no new dungeons in future patches.

Garrisons- Relocating your Garrison to different zones. Renaming and gearing followers, trophies for killing rares and mount their head in your base, building defenses.

Finally the piece that pissed me off was "THE PALADIN STORYLINE".

Next with all that is coming out for Legion.

2.Why no one asked how much of this stuff is coming out at launch and what is going to be released in future patches?

    • Suramar city was a very ambitious project, creating a playable night else metropolis
    Leveling in Legion
    • What order do we do zones in? Easy answer: THE ZONES SCALE! You can do the zones while leveling in any order you chose (4 level up zones)
    • All roads still lead to Suramar - level 110 Zone, conclusion of journey for now
    • This makes this easier to play with your friends - you can do the same zone at different levels
    • World is scaled, not players
    • You will still get scaled quest rewards
    • Artifact will always keep you ahead of the power curve while leveling
    • Non-scaling large scary monsters like fel reaver will still exist

    Endgame in Legion
    • Goal is best of both worlds: warlords/mop dailies, balance between freedom for objectives and take multiple roots to success but also imbue it with a sense of purpose and reason for your actions
    • Since it's all flexible zones, you can put dailies all over since it can all scale up to 110
    • System of outdoor world quests, constantly ongoing and always changing - "World quests"
    • Map updates with varied quests, objectives, with varied reasons and rewards
    • They vary in time--some are a few hours, some rare quests stay on for a week, a more organic sense of new things around the world. They want to overwhelm you with choices and options
    • Huge list of things, decide what rewards you value and what you want to tackle and go do it
    • Many tied to factions in the Broken Isles

    • First raid boss in Emerald Dream is a Dragon!

    • Xavius manifested in the nightmare he looks like a huge big grotesque demon.
    • Palace of Suramar is a 10 boss raid, Gul'dan's base of operation
    • Nightwell is being infused with a Pillar of Creation
    • Not a dark demon raid, it's a majestic elven city
    • Combining concept art and 2D raid layout
    • Has things like a garden, an observatory, etc
    • Root our demons of the legion and the Nightborne who have betrayed their brethren
    • Boss: Grand Magistrix of the Nightborne
    • Final boss : Gul'dan
    Dungeons
    • Ten dungeons coming
    • Five dungeons scale with level in accordance with Level up system, where the final five are max level
    • Eye of Azshara, Neltharian's Lair, Halls of Valour, Dark Heart Thicket, (new) Violet Hold
    • Dungeons are very integrated into the stories of the zones
    • Vault of the Wardens, Black Rook Hold, Hellheim, Suramar Noble District, and Suramar Catacombs are the max level dungeons
    • "Mini attunement": find another way in to the Palace from the Catacombs through foundations of the Nightwell
    • Dark Heart Thicket: foot of the World Tree, rescue an ally in the clutches of the nightmare. Our reality + threat of the nightmare
    • Halls of Valor: like Valhalla, where greatest warriors of Vry'kul goes
    • Hellheim: fallen val'yr, waiting for Ship of the Damned upon which you do this dungeon! - Ghostly ship feel, on your way to rescue "precious cargo".
    • Black Rook Hold: elven fortress towering over Val'sharah - militaristic side of Night Elves. Lord Ravencrest, Illidan's mentor - discovering Illidan's secrets.
    Challenge Modes
    • Goals: avoid repetition; keep variety in difficulty and reward, etc.
    • CM repurposed as true open ended, endgame experience. Dungeon is as hard as you need it to be, with commensurate reward.
    • In Legion CMs you start a CM with a keystone and it has a power level associated with it.
    • There is still a timer, but not a frenetic mad dash, more about core dungeon game play.
    • Pass your keystone? Allows you to try a harder level with better rewards.
    • Fail? You get a lower level keystone so you can try again.
    • Unbounded progression - there will always be a new step on the path to difficulty.
    • Can always ad new modifiers to health/damage/affixes in the dungeon.
    • "Raging affix - all creatures below 30% do double damage"
    • extra mobs, extra enemies in pulls, molten mobs, constant dots damage through whole dungeon
    • starts at small step above of Heroic dungeons.
    • Higher you go - better rewards. This can be a genuine alternate path to raiding.
    • More to come!
    Artifacts:
    • Deadwind Harvester - purged much of the life of Deadwind Pass - for affliction warlocks.
    • You follow the darkriders of Karazhan into some Catacombs.
    • The moment you have it in your hands, you'll feel different on combat. The souls in the Scythe are restless! They escape and you can reap those souls.
    • Artifact power: a resource to unlock abilities with your weapon. Comes from quests, arenas, raid bosses, BGs, etc.
    • Gaining artifact power unlocks artifact traits.
    • First thing to unlock is an active trait to put on your bar to unleash power against your enemies. I.e. in Deadwind Harvester, you release the souls onto a target.
    • Then, with traits you make choices i.e more crit, etc. These traits have ranks.
    • Some are more utility focused i.e. more health for you when someone uses a healthstone in your raid!
    • Traits can modify or add things to your spells.
    • It takes a while to unlock all the traits, especially the Gold Powers (higher ranks, etc.)
    • It will take months into the expansion to fill it out and it's power will continue to grow.
    • New items will be dropping called Relics.
    • Relics can be socketed into your Artifacts and give you bonus ranks into the traits that have ranks.
    • This is more customization - i.e. do you want to be more about burst aoe or more survivability, etc.
    • The relics over time will be able to give ranks to previously rankless traits.
    • Each weapon can only accept certain types of relics. Different people will be seeking out different relics: holy, fire, water, shadow, etc.
    • You will culminate dungeon and questing into a major upgrade moment - this, in addition to power upgrades, upgrades the model of the weapon.
    • You can quest for other models and colours for your weapon.
    • There is an interface for colour swaps - usually through achievements.
    • These colours also interface with the Artifact weapon, etc - i.e. go kill a former owner of the weapon to unlock a color.
    Class Order Halls
Goal for Class Order Halls was to have the location really feel like it's for your class. Example: Frey Island for warriors, where you got your Berserker Stance was NOT exactly what we wanted, didn't really feel like a warrior space.
    • Whatever groups we accepted into that space, we wanted a breadth of class fantasies i.e. barbarians, shining knights, grizzled veterans for warrior.
    • Class orders are forming around the fight against the Legion - this is the difference between old class orders and the new class orders.
    Example class hall: Druids
    • Moonglade is sort of a class hall already so how did we want to improve on that.
    • We wanted druids to be more enmeshed in nature, and wanted a nicer home for Cats and Bears.
    • Valsharah was where druidism was born in Azeroth so we're giving them The Dreamgrove.
    • This is where the Dream and Azeroth are quite close there.
    Other class hall features:
    • Special shrine/altar for upgrading, empowering, and altering your artifact.
    • You will see your class champions - much more in depth than Garrison followers.
    • You'll be interacting with your Scouting Map - original questing area, and shows new content around the world.
    • New class content in your class halls i.e. appearance unlocks for your class artifact
    • Also specific class quests, like demon hunting and pick pocketing.
    • Set dressing like armor stands for old tier sets.
    • Flavor things like hunter only flight network
    • Dreamgrove has portals to other natural places to the world
    • Warriors have arena to spar for bragging rights
    • Everyone will have a Death Gate-like ability.
    Class Changes
Goals: Strengthen class fantasies through immersion, distinctiveness between classes, and empowerment.
    • Example: Death Knight Runes - you can't push buttons you want to push when you want to push them. Now, one type of rune.
    • Example: Fury Warriors and chargers - when you push whirlwind, you aoe for several seconds. No more raging blow charges.
    • Example: Arcane charges are now a resource in addition to mana.
    • Example: New Arcane Mastery: Savant - increases how much mana you have.
    Class distinction:
    • Example: Survival hunter is now a melee spec with their beast: abilities like harpoon, raptor strike mongoose bite, etc
    • Example: Discipline priest was too narrow - double down on atonement, it's now the core healing mechanic - you will mainly heal through damage.
    • Example: Subtlety rogues need better version of shadow dance as a passive - 20% chance for combo point to reenter stealth, and that stealth does not break on damage. Also - Shadow strike teleports rogue to target and does double ambush damage. "A true ninja" - HAT removed but replaced by fantasy-central things.
    Immersion:
    • Example: Demonology Warlock are about summoning hordes of demons, buffing them, and sending them out. Not about metamorphosis anymore.
    • Example: Guardian Druid shouldn't be about dodge - now it's increased health, increased survivability, etc. No more dancing circus bear.
    • Example: Shadow Priests - related to Old Gods is a class fantasy with insanity. New Resource is insanity - no mana or orbs. Tap into the power of going insane, shadow form grows darker and darker and grow tentacles and turn into Void Form - this insanity is fleeting but slowly drains. Longer you stay in that form, the more damage.
    Talent changes:
    • Fewer "theme" rows
    • Hundreds of new talents coming out, more than there's ever been in any previous expansion.
    Professions
    • Goal - Giving you more stuff to do
    • Example: you log in on Sunday and want to relax by doing professions so we're going to change recipe acquisition.
    • You won't just log into this expac and learn every recipe you need from a trainer.
    • We want you out in the world to go on adventures to find recipes.
    • Example: Tailor starts quest in Dalaran, trainer asks you to go find cloth. It fails, find a new person to help you make it work! Rest of the quest line deals with learning stuff from a Nightborne who also learns from YOU about Dalaran.
    • Example: Mining - you learn from characters on how to mine more efficiently.
    • New ore: Ley Ore
    • Mining and Herb nodes are SHARED in Legion. Druids won't steal your nodes!
    • Recipe ranks - 2 and 3 star recipes in the world, makes you more efficient at making what you already know how to make.
    • New professions/trade skill UI. Favorites list for your professions! Learned/unlearned tab
    • The example UI tab was for Enchanting, and had new shoulder enchants listed.
    • Obliterum - demon ash or dust that increases power of your crafted items. You build a forge in Dalaran that converts old crafted items into Obliterum.
    • Plenty of stuff to do: Learned all recipes? Find the new ranks. New? Get original recipes.
    • We want crafted items to feel unique
    • Engineering helm: Fire a bullet from your head at the current target
    • Some items have class-specific procs or effects
    • JC neck: increases run speed by 15% while enraged - class specific things.
    • Inscription: Major glyphs are GONE.
    • You still make Darkmoon Cards, and minor glyphs.
    • Minor Glyphs are a consumable applied directly to the spell
    • 1 Glyph per spell but you can glyph as many spells as you want.
    • Vantus Rune - week long buff against a particular boss, only one per week i.e. Xavius.
    • Archaeology: Months long journey through the world to create more usable items.
    • Cooking: Nomi is back, and will teach you how to make bacon!
    • Fishing: we want you feeling "What's going to happen to me today" instead of deciding what to watch on TV.
    • First aid: NEW BANDAGE CONTENT!
    Items
    • Goal: Bringing excitement back with rare items that drop anywhere in the world.
    • We want to make sure their power is relevant throughout the expansion - we want you to keep them and keep using them.
    • We want to expand their unique effects like class based, role based, or spec based.
    • World drops are now Legendary i.e. the dot can do its entire effect left on each dot.
    • They are not FULLY random - better ways for you to find them and to target specific ones.
    • Every item that drops can scale up to the best item in the game but the best way to get gear is still through the most difficult content.
    • All Legion items can drop with an increased ilvl.
    • Duplicate personal loot can now be traded.
    Transmog
    • Transmog 2.0: help clean up your bank, increase customization, help your collection!
    • "The Wardrobe" - as soon as an item is bound to you, its appearance is unlocked into your collection.
    • Once you unlock it you can toss it, disenchant it.
    • Transmog is ACCOUNT WIDE.
    • New transmog UIs - with the models on your character.
    • Counts how many items in a slot you've unlocked with progress bar.
    • Sometimes it's a pain to keep track of your looks so we've added "Outfits."
    • You can link the outfit to someone else and shows them basically a "shopping list."
    • When you log into Legion - you'll have every item in your bank, etc.
    • Also, every single quest will be found that you've ever done and you get every quest reward unlocked - even the ones you didn't choose as a reward.
    • You can save different outfits per spec!
    • "Hidden" slots are now saved per outfit.
    • You can now hide shoulders
    • 3 new transmog slots - Weapon Enchants, Shirts, and Tabards!

Apparently these 'morons' also stunk and they dressed badly.

(That's according to a lot of Clowns that posted in a infamous other thread.

Do you really think that a Blizzcon crowdmember asking what content/features will be in at launch or be cut, or introduced in a future content patch would get a definitive answer from a dev?
    Do you?

In fact both of your questions, as much as all of us would love to know, would never be asked and answered.

Those who do not stand with the Forsaken stand against them. And those who stand against the Forsaken will not stand long

If anyone asked these questions at Blizzcon or Gamescom that would be a massive waste of time.

  6. #6
Did you literally quote the entire summarization of BlizzCon and just make your post a heck of a lot longer for no reason?

Also why bother asking questions about last expansion?

  7. #7
Nothing shown before release is promised, so nothing shown at Blizzcon 2013 was promised, it's merely a demonstration of their current plans. Everything before release is subject to change.

Both of your questions that "the morons" should have asked would get easy answers you yourself could answer if you used your brain for 5 seconds. Of course they aren't answers you'd want so I understand the selective thinking.

Wrong forum to post imho. Everyone in here is a Blizzard fanboy/girl and will passively show it off in their comments (or directly too for that matter).

The fact of the matter is, the game is longer being designed for 'Warcraft' fans; a team of marketing experts combined with financial experts dictate where the game should be headed for a better business portfolio.

I always find it ironic that half of the posters will claim "everyone is a fanboy/white knight" and the other half will claim that "Everyone here is a hater".

Yes people on a World of Warcraft forum generally as an overall consensus like Blizzard. What a fucking no brainer.

It's interesting you have insider knowledge of how Blizzard are developing their games, got any leaks?

I'm pretty sure that this blizzcon all Q&A questions were pre-selected and pre-screened by blizz.

Most questions came from online, and the few live questions came from darkmoon faire suggestion box. There was no line to stand in etc.

I'd have loved to see them ask why in the actual hell Holinka is still employed at Blizzard, personally..

PvP has been a complete train wreck under his direction.

Didn't they said around gamescom that they have learned a lesson from "speaking too much about WoD"? and they also stated that this time they will only share us the info that will make it to live.

Do you want a Blizzard Q and A with more evasions than a presidential debate? This is how you get it.

There might be a thread in there somewhere but this is no way to start it. Also, we have a summary of Blizzcon in our news section.

    Closing.
