Hi !
First, sorry if there's any mistake, English is not my first language !
Anyway, I plan on building a new PC but I'm a little lost with all those new numbers and multiple brand so...a little help would be appreciated
Here's a list I made with my own limited knowledge and some google/youtube research:
CPU: Intel Core i5-6600K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor
CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D14 65.0 CFM CPU Cooler
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z170X-Gaming 3 ATX LGA1151 Motherboard
Memory: Kingston HyperX Fury Black 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2133 Memory
Storage: Samsung 850 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
Video Card: MSI Radeon R9 390 8GB Video Card
Case: Corsair Air 540 ATX Mid Tower Case
Power Supply: EVGA SuperNOVA NEX 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply
Optical Drive: Asus DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS DVD/CD Writer
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 Home OEM (64-bit)
Total: ~ $1300
What I want exactly ?
I want to know if this build is ok for me and if I can reduce the price a bit or change some parts and make it better within reasonable cost.
Are the brand ok ? Do I need anything else ?
What I'll do with my computer ?
- I have a Dual screen (1080p) display.
- I want to be able to play games at max or near and not being worried about getting 20FPS in latest games.
- I'm not a big video editing guy but I do a lot of high resolution drawing in Photoshop. (is 16GB of RAM overkill ? I do not mind the price anyway...)
Last thing...
I love Nvidia, I love GeForce Experience (ShadowPlay is awesome) and everything.
I chose a R9 390 because of the reviews and price but I'm really not sure.
I had some problems with AMD in the past but I know it's a good brand too.
Would a GTX 970 be a huge mistake ?
Thanks a lot !
