Is it possible to play sub from the beginning

Hey all, im playing Rogue and i want to learn sub, i really want it. I'm sub right now and my second talent is combat, if i play good sub, is it possible to do cool dmg ? Or should i Spec asas until 4pc and trinkets? Thanks ^_^

If you're not in a competitive mythic raiding guild then it doesn't matter, play whichever spec you enjoy.
