It impairs your lung function in a major way. You get short on breath even from minor exercise. When I had it I couldn't walk 50 meters at normal pace without starting to cough my lungs out, and ending up throwing up every time since the coughing was so violent.

This. I try and twist the ends out as best I can but it's still a burden, but one I'll gladly carry.

Trim it and keep it above your lip. i rarely have issues with it that way.

Think of it kind of like a flower (probably where the comparisons came from...). A little girl's is more like a closed bud that doesn't show much of anything, whereas grown women tend to have a more... bloomed look. Everyone's different though so looks vary.
